Streets of Lucknow and Prayagraj will soon be accessible in the 3D metaverse; audio tours of 100 state landmarks to be introduced

Lucknow :As part of CM Yogi’s vision to make Uttar Pradesh the country’s ‘most favored destination’ in terms of tourism, 360-degree panoramic data of 1,500 landmarks in Lucknow and Prayagraj will be compiled on the 3D Metaverse platform. This data, along with geo-referenced maps, will be integrated into the Metaverse system, with 3D-enabled web and mobile apps being developed to provide a seamless virtual tour experience.

Additionally, a QR code-based audio tour portal will be created, allowing visitors to explore 100 major locations through audio-guided tours. Both projects are being undertaken by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, and work is already underway on these initiatives.

A memorable tourism experience is shaped by various key elements along a tourist’s journey. With this in mind, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is set to develop feature-rich web and mobile applications, integrating 3D metaverse technology and 360-degree panoramic views of significant landmarks using geo-referenced maps.

The appointed agency will conduct surveys to collect data from around 1,500 sites, gathering 360-degree panoramic visuals to build a comprehensive database. This will enable the creation of a 3D metaverse tour experience, accessible via web and mobile apps in both Lucknow and Prayagraj.

A thorough survey process will also be completed in these cities to facilitate the project, connecting various mythological, historical, and cultural sites, including Lucknow’s Chikankari hubs, Prayagraj’s ghats for Mahakumbh, temples, and spiritual centers.

Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department will develop a QR code-enabled audio tour portal, offering audio-guided tours at 100 major locations across the state. As part of this initiative, 19 sites in Prayagraj, including the Public Library, Allahabad Museum, Chandrashekhar Azad Park, and Hanuman Temple, will be included.

Similarly, audio tours will be available at 8 sites in Ayodhya, including Shri Ram Janmabhoomi and Hanumangarhi, 8 sites in Varanasi, including Kashi Vishwanath Temple, and 6 sites in Shravasti, such as Angulimala Stupa and Kapilvastu Stupa. Other significant locations include the Mahaparinirvan Temple in Kushinagar, Bada Imambara in Lucknow, the Taj Mahal in Agra, Shri Radharani Temple in Barsana, Prem Mandir in Vrindavan, Mata Vindhyavasini Temple, Ramghat in Chitrakoot, Chakratirtha in Naimisharanya, Devipatan Temple in Balrampur, Barua Sagar Fort in Jhansi, Garh Mukteshwar in Hapur, and Shakambhari Devi Temple in Saharanpur.

The project will develop engaging content to provide a live virtual tour experience at each of these iconic sites.
