Panchkula: Nayab Singh Saini Takes Oath as Haryana Chief Minister
On October 17, Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in for his second term as the Chief Minister of Haryana, leading the BJP government once again. The ceremony took place at Dussehra Ground, Sector 5, Panchkula, where Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath to Saini and his council of ministers. This marks the BJP’s third consecutive government in Haryana, having won 48 out of 90 seats in the recent assembly elections, while the Congress secured 37 seats.
The event drew significant attention, with prominent leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and other Union Ministers, including Nitin Gadkari and Rajiv Ranjan Singh, in attendance. Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states, including Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam, Bhupendra Patel of Gujarat, and Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, also graced the occasion. Additionally, NDA leaders such as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde attended the ceremony.
Nayab Singh Saini was chosen as the leader of the Haryana BJP Legislature Party during a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Chandigarh. Following the swearing-in, a significant NDA meeting was scheduled in Chandigarh, where Prime Minister Modi is set to address the National Democratic Alliance leaders. The meeting aims to discuss future strategies and align policies across NDA-ruled states.
The oath-taking ceremony and the subsequent NDA gathering highlight the continued efforts of the BJP to strengthen its foothold in Haryana and further its developmental agenda across the region.
