Ensure Chitrakoot’s temples and monasteries shine for Mahakumbh: CM Yogi Adityanath

Chitrakoot/Lucknow : During his one-day visit to Chitrakoot on Thursday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a comprehensive review of development projects, law enforcement, and key government schemes at the district Collectorate auditorium.

He assessed progress of initiatives such as MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (rural and urban), National Rural Livelihood Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, animal husbandry, healthcare services, tourism development, industrial corridors, and expressway projects.

The CM urged officials to ensure timely and high-quality implementation of all schemes and emphasized special preparations for the upcoming Mahakumbh. He also stressed the importance of cleanliness and beautification of monasteries and temples. Earlier, he planted sandalwood sapling on the Collectorate premises.

CM Yogi reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime and corruption, instructing authorities to identify and incarcerate individuals posing a threat to society. He emphasized the need for decisive action against professional mafias involved in animal cruelty, illegal mining, and land encroachments.

Additional police deployment was directed to maintain smooth traffic flow. Under the Mission Shakti Abhiyan, he called for raising awareness about government schemes among women and girls in every village. He also ordered strict action against illegal drug activities in Chitrakoot, given its religious significance.

Highlighting preparations for the Mahakumbh, scheduled in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, 2025, CM Yogi stressed the importance of providing security and a positive experience for devotees visiting Chitrakoot. He urged officials to work closely with public representatives to complete development projects effectively.

Special attention should be given to the cleanliness of religious sites, ensuring convenience for monks and saints in monasteries. Additionally, the Chief Medical Officer was directed to run a campaign to issue Ayushman cards for saints above 70 years of age residing in ashrams.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed the District Magistrate to expedite land acquisition processes for key projects, including the Bundelkhand Link Expressway, Defense Corridor, Ram Van Gaman Marg, and the Industrial Corridor.

He emphasized the need to coordinate with UPSIDA to resolve pending compensation issues, ensuring a copy of all correspondence is sent to the Chief Minister’s Office.

The CM also called for a strategic land-use plan to attract hotel investments along the link expressway in Chitrakoot. Additionally, he stressed the importance of accurate electricity billing and reliable power supply in the district.

Addressing educational infrastructure, the Chief Minister instructed the District Basic Education Officer to ensure that all schools under Operation Kayakalp have proper toilet facilities.

He directed that principals and teachers be held accountable for the timely distribution of uniforms, socks, shoes, and sweaters to students. The District School Inspector was tasked with reporting incomplete school construction projects, including reasons for any revised estimates, to enable appropriate action against implementing agencies.

The CM also highlighted the need to prepare funding proposals for recognized schools and address teacher shortages, with updates to be sent to his office. He further instructed measures to support Sanskrit schools and improve Gram Sachivalaya services, ensuring villagers have access to essential facilities.

Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the CM mandated deploying a plumber in every Gram Panchayat to support the Har Ghar Nal Yojana. He ordered repairs of roads damaged during mission works, setting a deadline for completion by January 2025.

Reviewing the Animal Husbandry Department, he directed the Chief Veterinary Officer to provide green fodder and bran for cows instead of dry hay, ensure timely payments to Gram Panchayats, and conduct regular inspections of gaushalas. He emphasized protecting cows from cold weather and ensuring they do not suffer from hunger, thirst, or cold, warning of strict action against negligence.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath enquired the District Magistrate about the high number of pending revenue cases, urging their prompt resolution to ensure justice for the poor. He directed that senior officials—including the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, and Chief Development Officer—personally review at least ten cases daily.

Additionally, the CM emphasized the importance of reviewing ongoing construction projects every 15 days, ensuring timely completion and strict action against substandard work. Proposals for road connectivity in unconnected villages should be sent to the government under the Dharmarth Karya scheme. He also stressed maintaining cleanliness on the Kamadgiri Parikrama Marg and eliminating single-use plastic.

For tourism development, the CM instructed the District Magistrate to expedite the proposal and necessary Forest Department approvals for constructing a ropeway to Valmiki Ashram, aiming for completion before Valmiki Jayanti. He emphasized high-quality beautification work at Ram Ghat and Tulsi Janmasthali and recommended forming a quality-check committee.

The Public Works Department was tasked with proposing a four-lane road from Yamuna Bridge to Tulsidas Ji’s temple under the Dharmarth Karya Yojana, while the Irrigation Department was directed to create an action plan for erosion prevention. The CM highlighted the importance of preparing multiple tourism development proposals, promising immediate funding release. He also called for accelerating the completion of the airport construction.

The Chief Minister reiterated that Chitrakoot is an aspirational district and stressed the need for optimal implementation of all government schemes. The goal is to position Chitrakoot as a top-ranking district across all development parameters.

On this occasion, Jalshakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Minister of State for Labor and Employment Manohar Lal Mannu Kori, MLA Manikpur Avinash Chandra Dwivedi, former Minister of State Chandrika Prasad Upadhyay, Chairman District Panchayat Ashok Jatav, Chairman of District Cooperative Bank Pankaj Agarwal, Municipal Council Chairman Narendra Gupta, Commissioner Chitrakoot Dham Mandal Banda Balkrishna Tripathi, Additional Director General of Police Prayagraj Bhanu Bhaskar, District Magistrate Shivsharanappa G.N. and Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh along with all district level officers were present.

Chief Minister did a surprise inspection of primary school
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an unannounced inspection of the English Medium Primary School in Sonepur. During his visit, he interacted with students from classes 4 and 5, asking their names, class details, and whether they could read their textbooks. He also distributed chocolates to the children.

The CM visited the smart classroom, inquiring about the lessons students had learned and whether they received meals according to the prescribed menu. The students confirmed that the meals matched the menu. Following this, the Chief Minister instructed the District Basic Education Officer to ensure that proper furniture was provided for the school.
