Rising Rajasthan—Saudi Arabia Shows Interest in Mining and Petroleum Sectors, Discusses Opportunities with Officials
– Discussions on investments with senior officials of the Mines and Petroleum Department
– Special interest shown in investing in the petrochemical sector along with mining
Jaipur : A delegation led by Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister Sheikh Abdul Majeed Falah, participating in the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, has shown interest in investing in the mineral and petrochemical sectors in the state.
Principal Secretary of Mines and Petroleum, Shri T. Ravikant, informed that detailed discussions were held with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Ministers Sheikh Abdul Majeed Falah and Sheikh Abdullah regarding investment opportunities in these sectors within the state.
Shri T. Ravikant stated that Additional Director of Mines, Shri B.S. Sodha, provided the Saudi delegation with detailed information about the minerals available in the state, exploration activities, and the upcoming auctions of mineral blocks. He explained that Rajasthan possesses reserves of decorative stones along with critical and strategic minerals, and their blocks are being prepared and auctioned in a phased manner.
Additional Director of Petroleum, Shri Ajay Sharma, elaborated on the development of a petrochemical zone around the Rajasthan Refinery and its adjacent areas. He also briefed about the exploration and extraction of crude oil and gas reserves available in the state.
Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister Sheikh Abdul Majeed Falah and Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Abdullah expressed interest in industrial investment in the petrochemical zone being developed near the refinery, in addition to the mineral sector.
It is noteworthy that Finance Expenditure Secretary Shri Naveen Jain is the nodal officer for Saudi Arabia’s investments on behalf of the state government. He is making efforts to bring more foreign investments into the state by coordinating between the state government and Saudi representatives.
The delegation from the Mines Department included Additional Director Shri M.P. Meena, ADG Shri Alok Jain, SG Shri Sunil Verma, Shri Rajkumar Meena, and other officials.
