35 thousand teachers recruited in the School Education Department in the last 3 years

The School Education Department has appointed teachers on about 35 thousand vacant posts in the last 3 years to ensure the quality of education in government schools in the state. This action has been taken with the aim of better implementation of the New Education Policy-2020.

The appointed teachers include 15 thousand higher secondary teachers, 7726 middle teachers and 12 thousand 539 primary teachers. Thus 35 thousand 265 teachers have been appointed. To ensure the availability of teachers as per requirement in government schools, 20 thousand teachers have been given higher post charge and 17 thousand teachers have been posted elsewhere in rationalization under the surplus process, adopting a transparent process.

Promotion of vocational education

In the New Education Policy-2020, it has also been recommended to provide vocational education to the students along with studies. Keeping this in mind, vocational education courses are being conducted in 2383 government schools in the state. 4 lakh students are enrolled in these schools. They are being trained in 14 types of trades for the purpose of skill development. Agriculture faculty is being conducted in 798 higher secondary schools of the state and agriculture trade is conducted in 465 higher secondary schools. Under the STARS project, vocational education has been started for drop-out students along with regular students in 100 schools.

In class 9, students have the option to select one language from Hindi, English, Sanskrit, or Urdu and an option of choosing a third language instead of one of the languages and in class 11, there is a provision to choose vocational education in place of one of the languages. Efforts are being made by the department to provide training in some trade to the children studying in government schools in view of today’s vocational and employment needs.

Construction of lab

Labs are being constructed for 2 vocational trades in every CM Rise school operating in the state. Along with this, at least one robotics lab is being established in CM Rise schools of each district. Apart from the currently running IT courses, new courses like AI coding are being prepared in collaboration with Pt. Sundarlal Sharma Institute of Vocational Education. Under Tuning of Schools, tuning of 520 schools has been done. Through this system, these schools are exchanging best practices among themselves.
