Chief Minister Inaugurates ‘Amrit Kaal Viksit Bharat 2047 Conference’

Maharashtra Will Remain at the Forefront of India’s Development

Nagpur : The Union Budget is dedicated to four key groups—the poor, youth, farmers, and women—and covers ten major sectors, including agriculture development and productivity, rural prosperity and sustainability, employment-driven growth, human resource development, innovative investments, and energy availability. This budget will ensure economic prosperity for India in Amrit Kaal while creating an alternative ecosystem, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today.

He further stated that significant provisions have been made for the states, and Maharashtra will leverage these opportunities to stay ahead in the race towards a developed India.

The ‘Amrit Kaal Viksit Bharat 2047 Conference’ was organized by Money Bee Institute at the Scientific Society Lawn in Laxminagar, Nagpur, and was inaugurated by CM Devendra Fadnavis. While analyzing the 2025-26 Union Budget presented in Parliament today, the Chief Minister was joined by Vijay Kedia, Managing Director of Kedia Securities, Shriram Krishnan, Chief Business Development Officer of the National Stock Exchange, and Shivani Dani-Wakhare, Director of Money Bee Institute.

Key Budget Highlights Shared by CM Fadnavis:

Boosting Agricultural Productivity:

  • Integrated programs for seeds, irrigation facilities, and electricity availability will be implemented across 100 districts, benefiting over 10 million farmers.
  • A six-year special program has been launched to increase pulse and oilseed production, making India self-sufficient.
  • The Cotton Mission will be implemented for the next five years to boost cotton production, benefiting Vidarbha, Marathwada, and 5 million hectares of cotton-growing land in Maharashtra.
  • The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) limit has been increased from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh, ensuring interest-free loans for farmers.

Support for MSMEs and Employment Generation:

  • The MSME sector, which contributes 36% to India’s total manufacturing output, will see ₹1.5 lakh crore investment to boost production and job creation.
  • IITs will increase student capacity, while 10,000 additional MBBS seats will be created in medical education.
  • 200 cancer treatment centers will be established in government hospitals nationwide.
  • 50 world-class centers will be developed across India, including sites related to Lord Gautam Buddha, with states competing for their implementation.

Tax Reforms & Middle-Class Benefits:

  • For the first time in India’s budget history, the income tax exemption limit has been raised to ₹12 lakh, benefiting the middle class and increasing purchasing power.
  • A new Income Tax Law has been announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, aiming to simplify tax regulations and drive positive economic transformation.

Infrastructure & State-Specific Allocations:

  • Major investments have been allocated for infrastructure projects.
  • States will receive ₹1.5 lakh crore in interest-free loans for 50 years.
  • The budget encourages PPP (Public-Private Partnership) investments in infrastructure projects.
  • Maharashtra-specific provisions include an ₹11,000 crore budget allocation for Mumbai Metro, Pune Metro, MUTP (Mumbai Urban Transport Project), MMR (Mumbai Metropolitan Region), and integrated green transit facilities.

Maharashtra’s Role in a Developed India

CM Fadnavis emphasized that Maharashtra will take full advantage of these opportunities and continue playing a leading role in India’s development journey towards 2047 Viksit Bharat.

The event’s opening remarks were given by Shivani Dani-Wakhare, while Vijay Kedia and Shriram Krishnan also shared their insights on the budget.
