CM Stalin Launches ‘Kalaignar Karuvoolam’ Digital Archive
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri M.K. Stalin, yesterday (4.2.2025), launched the Kalaignar Karuvoolam Special Page (https://www.tamildigitallibrary.in/kalaignar) at the Tamil Nadu Library under the aegis of the Tamil Digital Library and Digital Media.
The Tamil Language Education Society was established on 17.02.2001 under the auspices of the “Tamililaiyam 99” conference, organized by Muthamiliringar Kalaignar and other scholars, to promote the growth and development of the Tamil language in the 21st century. This organization currently teaches Tamil to over 18,000 children through 181 communication centers in 39 countries and conducts research and artistic projects related to Tamil literature and mathematics.
The Tamil Digital Library (https://www.tamildigitallibrary.in) serves as a platform for sharing and preserving knowledge. It publishes books, magazines, and digital archives in various fields, including Tamil literature, culture, and science. Over the last three years, the library has achieved a significant milestone, crossing the ten-century mark in content preservation.
The newly launched Kalaignar Karuvoolam Special Page houses 955 rare works, including:
- 17 annals of the artist
- 36 short stories
- 17 plays
- 62 poems
- 18 essays
- 6 anthologies
- 322 magazine editions
- 73 letters
- 89 speeches
- 19 audio recordings
- 82 books on Kalaignar’s life and contributions
This extensive collection showcases the literary, artistic, and cultural wisdom of Tamil civilization.
On this occasion, the Hon’ble Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri Palanivel Thiagarajan, along with Professor of Information Technology and Digital Arts, Dr. Na. Muruganantham, I.A.P., and Director of the Tamil Language Educational Institute, Mr. S.R. Gandhi, I.R.P.P., were present. The event was also attended by Mr. V. Kagamagan and other senior government officials.
