Maharashtra Revenue Department Strengthens Administration’s Credibility – Additional Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar

Grand Inauguration of Maharashtra Revenue Department’s State-Level Sports Competition in Nanded

Former Chief Minister and MP Ashok Chavan Hoists the Flag

Nanded : The identity of any state or district is shaped by its revenue administration. The efficiency of a state’s administration depends on the dedication, integrity, and work ethic of its revenue officials. Maharashtra has earned a distinct reputation in the country due to the positive attitude and quality work of its revenue employees, stated Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department, Rajesh Kumar. He was speaking at the grand inaugural ceremony of the Revenue Department’s State-Level Sports Competition in Nanded. Former Chief Minister and MP Ashok Chavan hoisted the flag to mark the event.

The sports competition, being held in Nanded from February 21 to 23, commenced today at Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji Stadium. The event was attended by MP Dr. Ajit Gopchade, MP Prof. Ravindra Chavan, MLA Prataprao Patil Chikhalikar, MLA Balaji Kalyankar, MLA Jitesh Antapurkar, MLA Anand Tidke, MLA Shrijaya Chavan, Additional Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Dilip Gawde, retired District Collector Arun Dongre, GST Joint Commissioner Abhijit Raut, District Collector Rahul Kardile, Jalna District Collector Shrikrishnanath Panchal, Hingoli District Collector Abhinav Goyal, Raigad District Collector Kishan Jawale, Superintendent of Police Abhinash Kumar, CEO of the District Council Meenal Karanwal, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Mahesh Doifode, Additional Revenue Commissioner Naina Bondarde, Additional District Collector Pandurang Borgavkar, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Kulkarni, Nitin Mahajan, Assistant Collectors Anushka Sharma and Meghna Kawli, and Resident Deputy Collector Mahesh Vadadkar.

In his presidential address, Rajesh Kumar expressed his delight at the revival of the competition after twelve years. He praised Divisional Commissioner Dilip Gawde, former Nanded District Collector Abhijit Raut, and current District Collector Rahul Kardile for organizing a high-quality event. He highlighted Nanded’s excellent sports infrastructure and accommodation facilities, stating that the city is well-equipped to host not only revenue department competitions but also international-level sports events.

“The Revenue Department is the backbone of the state administration. While our officers and employees are known for their expertise in handling files, I am excited to see them showcase their skills on the field. From clerks to Additional Chief Secretaries, we are all playing together, demonstrating the unity that strengthens our department,” he remarked.

Former Chief Minister and MP Ashok Chavan, in his inaugural speech, commended the Maharashtra Revenue Department for its contributions across various sectors. He emphasized that sports and cultural events help alleviate work-related stress among employees and assured that there would be no shortage of funds for such initiatives. Before his address, he hoisted the flag and administered the oath of discipline and team spirit to the participants.

MP Dr. Ajit Gopchade, MP Ravindra Chavan, MLA Prataprao Patil Chikhalikar, MLA Jitesh Antapurkar, MLA Anand Tidke, and MLA Balaji Kalyankar also extended their best wishes. Representatives from various revenue employee associations, including Laxman Naramwar (President, Maharashtra State Revenue Employees Association), Popantwar (Maharashtra State Talathi Association), Kiran Ambekar (President, Maharashtra State Naib Tehsildar Association), Dr. Sachin Khallal (Maharashtra Gazetted Officers Association), and Dipali Motiyele (Representative, Maharashtra Upper District Collector Cadre), addressed the gathering.

During the event, the state-level souvenir “Avirat Mahasul” was unveiled. Nearly 2,500 employees from across the state have gathered in Nanded for this three-day competition, which will feature various sports and cultural programs.
