Lunglei DCC/DLRC/DLSC Meeting Convened
Lunglei : The Lunglei District Consultative Committee (DCC), District Level Review Committee (DLRC), and District Level Security Committee (DLSC) convened today at the Lunglei DC Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Pi Rochuangkimi Khenglawt.
In her address, Pi Rochuangkimi Khenglawt expressed gratitude to the members and urged bankers to ensure that the public is well-informed about various government welfare schemes available through banks. She also emphasized the need for close collaboration between bankers and government line departments to improve financial accessibility and service delivery.
The meeting was attended by Lead District Manager Pu R. Lalmalsawma, RBI Aizawl Manager & Lead District Officer Pu Lalrosiama, NABARD Lunglei District Development Manager (DDM) Pi Chinngaihkim Phiamphu, representatives from various banks, line departments, and Sub-Headquarters YMA officials.
Key Discussions and Reports
- The minutes of the previous DCC meeting were reviewed and approved.
- A review was conducted on the performance of banks in Lunglei District for the third quarter (October – December 2024) of the financial year 2024-25. Discussions included the banks’ achievements, challenges, and strategies for improvement.
- Progress under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) was examined. The three-month saturation campaign (October 15, 2024 – January 15, 2025) successfully met the district’s target of 113 locations, with PMJJBY enrollments reaching 168.12% of the target (1,424 out of 847) and PMSBY enrollments reaching 197.58% of the target (1,796 out of 909).
- The Credit-Deposit Ratio (CDR) of banks in Lunglei District for the third quarter of 2024-25 was 71.69%.
- Under the Annual Credit Plan (ACP), banks disbursed 60% of loans under the Priority Sector and 110.25% under the Non-Priority Sector.
- Specific loan disbursements included:
- Self-Help Groups (SHGs): 43 groups received a total of ₹8.55 lakh.
- Kisan Credit Card (KCC): ₹201.63 lakh disbursed for crop loans.
- Animal Husbandry: ₹129.58 lakh disbursed.
- Fisheries: ₹4.67 lakh disbursed.
- Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP): 47 beneficiaries received ₹18.15 lakh.
- Financial Literacy Campaigns: 33 sessions were conducted.
Security and Currency Management
The meeting also addressed bank security measures and currency management. Discussions emphasized the importance of deploying security guards, installing CCTV cameras, fire extinguishers, and security alarms at all bank branches to ensure safety and prevent financial risks.
Launch of the Potential Linked Credit Plan (2025-26)
During the meeting, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Mizoram Regional Office, Aizawl, introduced the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLCP) 2025-26 for Lunglei District. The plan aims to enhance agricultural development and financial inclusion in the district. Chairperson Pi Rochuangkimi Khenglawt officially launched the initiative and encouraged all stakeholders to work towards its successful implementation.
