All Development projectss for Simhastha must be Completed on Time with Quality: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reviewed the ongoing infrastructure development works recommended by the Cabinet Committee for Simhastha-2028 in Ujjain on Wednesday. He stated that the Simhastha Mahaparva is a unique event for the world. During the grand festival, crores of devotees will take a holy dip in the sacred Shipra River. The eyes of the world will be on this event. Simhastha-2028 is a significant religious occasion for Madhya Pradesh, and our priority should be to ensure that every devotee is able to participate in the sacred rituals without any inconvenience.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviewed the progress of development works being undertaken by various departments for Simhastha-2028. He urged the residents of Ujjain to work with a spirit of service and called upon all officials to understand their responsibilities and complete the works within the stipulated timeline.
Chief Minister Expresses Concern for Farmers’ Crops
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav instructed officials to ensure the uninterrupted availability of adequate water for irrigating wheat crops while ghat construction work is underway on the Kshipra River. He directed that Narmada water be supplied for this purpose. He stated that the wheat crop will require one more round of irrigation and emphasised that adequate water flow in the Shipra must be maintained.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav issued strict instructions to all officials to work with seriousness and dedication. He directed Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajora and Shri Sanjay Dubey to ensure that no obstacles arise in the Simhastha-2028 works in Ujjain. He further instructed that a Simhastha Cell be constituted at the Chief Minister’s Residence for continuous monitoring and that vacancies in departments be filled immediately wherever required.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also directed that, if necessary, retired officers and employees with experience may be appointed as per rules to ensure the smooth execution of works. A reverse calendar should now be prepared to complete construction works at an accelerated pace. With approximately two years remaining until Simhastha-2028, it is mandatory to complete all works within the time frame and with high-quality standards. He reviewed the works being undertaken by various construction agencies and instructed that their resources and progress be continuously monitored. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasised that the time has come to move from micro-management to nano-management and to initiate preparations on a war footing. All officials must remain active 24×7.
To ensure better management of Simhastha-2028, citizens of Ujjain district should be inspired to work with a sense of responsibility and ownership, as if the event were their personal responsibility. Coordination should be strengthened to foster dedication and commitment among all citizens.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further directed that ongoing construction works under Simhastha-2028 be monitored regularly. He instructed all departments to work in coordination and complete necessary infrastructure development within the stipulated time.
Instructions Issued by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav to Officials
- Prepare an action plan to develop basic infrastructure in homestays, dharamshalas, schools, colleges, and other facilities for Simhastha-2028.
- Provide training to residents of villages connected to Ujjain city to facilitate homestay arrangements. Prepare separate plans for internal and external arrangements of the Simhastha fair area. Ensure mapping of all locations to strengthen external arrangements.
- For improved management, utilise major festivals such as Mahashivratri, Shravan, Nag Panchami, and other significant occasions in Ujjain as pilot events to assess arrangements and incorporate the lessons learned into the Simhastha crowd management plan.
- Identify alternative routes connecting Ujjain with neighbouring districts and upgrade them with Google mapping integration to assist in crowd management. Identify alternative routes for reaching the Mahakal Temple to facilitate smooth movement.
- Identify and upgrade routes connecting ghats near Shri Mangalnath, Shri Bhukhi Mata and Ramghat. Encourage institutions to construct social and community buildings, schools, colleges and dharamshalas outside the Simhastha fair area.
- Establish incentive mechanisms for construction agencies that complete their work on time for Simhastha-2028.
The review meeting was attended by Ujjain’s Minister-in-Charge Shri Gautam Tetwal, Mayor Shri Mukesh Tatwal, MLAs Shri Anil Jain Kaluheda, Shri Satish Malviya, Shri Jitendra Pandya, Municipal Corporation Chairperson Smt. Kalavati Yadav, Simhastha Fair Officer and Divisional Commissioner Shri Ashish Singh, ADG Shri Rakesh Gupta, Collector Shri Roshan Kumar Singh and other departmental officials.
