Sports Festival Organized on the Silver Jubilee of Chhattisgarh High Court
Raipur, Sept 2025 : As part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the Chhattisgarh High Court, a sports festival for employees was organized on September 20 and 21 at the Staff Club House.
The festival was inaugurated by Chief Justice Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha. The event featured competitions in badminton, table tennis, carrom, and chess, with both singles and doubles matches in the men’s and women’s categories.
In the badminton (men’s singles) competition, Yogesh Kumar Yadav emerged as the winner, while Prakash Kumar was the runner-up. In women’s singles, Yamini Patanwar secured the first position, with Lili Singh Rajput as the runner-up. In table tennis, Umesh Kumar Sahu won in the men’s category, while Anjana Sen took the women’s title. In chess, Kishan Kumar Markam (men) and Ritu Singh Thakur (women) claimed the top spots. In carrom, Vikram Singh Chauhan (men) and Jyoti Sahu (women) emerged as winners.
At the closing ceremony, the Chief Justice awarded medals and prizes to the winners and runners-up. In his address, he emphasized that sports not only bring joy, enthusiasm, and camaraderie to life but also serve as a vital means of stress relief and mental rejuvenation.
It is noteworthy that as part of the silver jubilee celebrations, a debate competition for advocates and judicial officers, as well as a friendly cricket match between judges and advocates, had already been organized earlier.
The event was attended by Justices Smt. Rajni Dubey, Shri Narendra Kumar Vyas, Shri Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi, Shri Rakesh Mohan Pandey, Shri Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, Shri Arvind Verma, and Shri Vibhu Datt Guru, along with the Registrar General, officers, employees, and their family members.
