From Ground to Sky: Mizoram Gears Up to Host First-Ever NCC Fest & Parasailing Camp
Aizawl, March 2026 : In a major initiative aimed at youth empowerment and nation-building, Colonel Sagar K Mohanty, Commanding Officer of 2 Mizo Battalion NCC, called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Lalduhoma, yesterday, to apprise him of the recent developments and expansion of NCC activities in South Mizoram.
During the interaction, Col Mohanty highlighted the organisation of the first-ever NCC Fest and Parasailing Camp in Mizoram, to be held at Lunglei and scheduled from 05 May to 11 May, a pioneering initiative designed to spread awareness about NCC and motivate the youth to join its ranks. The event aims to instill discipline, confidence, and a spirit of adventure among young individuals, guiding them towards becoming responsible citizens and active contributors to nation-building.
The upcoming fest will feature interactive sessions with distinguished dignitaries of the state and senior military officials, providing cadets and youth with valuable exposure and inspiration. A wide array of attractions will be set up, including informative NCC stalls, weapon displays by Border Security Force, Assam Rifles & Territorial Army Bn, NCC alumni interactions, and exhibitions showcasing local handloom and traditional crafts. Additionally, traditional food stalls will highlight the rich cultural heritage of Mizoram, making the event both educational and culturally enriching.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister appreciated the visionary efforts of Col. Sagar K Mohanty and commended the initiative as a significant step towards the holistic development and upliftment of Mizoram’s youth. He emphasised the vital role of NCC in shaping character, leadership and unity among the younger generation. He also conveyed his consent to grace the occasion at Lunglei, reflecting his strong encouragement for such initiatives.
This historic initiative marks a new chapter in NCC activities in Mizoram, creating a vibrant platform to connect, inspire and empower youth through innovation, adventure and cultural pride.
