Priority to Comprehensive Development of Sindhudurg Through Quality Work – Guardian Minister Nitesh Rane

Sindhudurg : Guardian Minister Nitesh Rane has assured that maximum funds will be secured for Sindhudurg district through various state and central government schemes, in addition to the District Annual Plan. He announced that a ₹300 crore development plan has been approved for the upcoming financial year, with a focus on quality-driven, comprehensive development of the district.

Minister Nitesh Rane inaugurated the newly constructed Government Rest House in Devgad and later addressed the media during a press conference. The event was attended by former MLA Mr. Gogate, District Bank President Manish Dalvi, and other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Rane emphasized that the government, under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, is committed to development initiatives. With increased funding for Sindhudurg, tourism, employment generation, and infrastructure will see significant growth, leading to the district’s prosperity. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure that ongoing and upcoming development projects maintain high quality standards. He also stressed the importance of meticulous planning to complete the District Annual Plan projects within the stipulated timeframe.

Sindhudurg’s Development Plan and Additional Funding Request

Discussing the District Development Committee’s working plan, Rane announced that next year’s planning meeting will be held in the first week of April. His priority as Guardian Minister will be to ensure that all projects are completed with high standards. He aims to fully utilize the allocated funds by December, after which he will request an additional ₹100 crore from CM Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. This would bring the total funding for Sindhudurg’s development to ₹400 crore, thereby boosting the district’s per capita income.

Key Budget Allocations Under the District Annual Plan:

  • Innovative Schemes: ₹12.69 crore
  • Women & Child Development: ₹8.46 crore
  • Welfare of Backward Classes: ₹3.82 crore
  • Urban Development Department: ₹35 crore
  • Education Department: ₹14.10 crore
  • Tourism Promotion: ₹10 crore
  • Bridge Construction: ₹12 crore
  • Electricity Distribution: ₹11 crore
  • Public Facilities: ₹32 crore
  • Rural Roads: ₹17 crore

Inauguration of Government Rest House in Devgad

Minister Nitesh Rane highlighted that the Devgad Government Rest House is a model example of proper utilization of public funds collected through taxes. He also praised the Kankavli Rest House for its exemplary infrastructure. Given Sindhudurg’s status as a tourism district, the new Devgad Rest House will play a crucial role in boosting tourism.

The newly inaugurated Government Rest House in Devgad features:

  • 2 VVIP suites with attached ante-chambers
  • 3 VIP rooms with air conditioning
  • A dedicated meeting room
  • Spacious lobby
  • Large parking area
  • Fire safety system
  • CCTV security system

With such focused planning and quality-driven development, Sindhudurg is set to witness significant growth in infrastructure, tourism, and economic opportunities.
