Women Envoys Laud Adani’s Renewable Projects, Female Workforce in Gujarat
Women envoys from 9 countries hail diverse workforce at Adani’s clean energy, other projects
Khavda/Mundra – A delegation of women envoys from nine countries, including Luxembourg, Romania, and Slovenia, visited Gujarat to review Adani Group’s renewable energy and other projects. They praised the participation of women in the workforce at these facilities.

While interacting with women engineers at Adani Green Energy’s 30-GW clean energy plant in Khavda, Kutch district, the delegates highlighted the importance of workplace diversity as a key driver of economic growth.
During their visit on Wednesday, ahead of International Women’s Day, the seven ambassadors and two high commissioners also engaged with women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) supported by the Adani Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the ports-to-energy conglomerate.
“The ambassadors witnessed firsthand how the renewable energy project integrates cutting-edge technology with sustainable development, including the Energy Network Operations Centre (ENOC), which is overseen by women engineers,” the Adani Group said in a statement.
At Mundra Port, which handles nearly 11% of India’s maritime cargo and 33% of its container traffic, the envoys explored the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in the Mundra Special Economic Zone (SEZ), where global companies are investing in advanced manufacturing.
The delegation included Ina Krisnamurthi (Ambassador of Indonesia to India), Marje Luup (Estonia), Diana Mickeviciene (Lithuania), Ana Taban (Moldova), Mateha Vodeb Ghosh (Slovenia), Sena Latif (Romania), and Peggy Frantzen (Luxembourg). Additionally, Seychelles High Commissioner Lalatiana Accouche and Lesotho High Commissioner Lebohang Valentine Mochaba were also part of the visit.
“It was impressive to see the workforce at the Adani Foundation. We met young engineers who were recently recruited from campuses and brought to these laboratories. They are not only supporting their families but also contributing to India’s overall social and economic development. This is great news for the world,” Romanian Ambassador Latif told PTI.
She also praised Adani Group’s transformation of previously non-cultivable land into solar plants, manufacturing hubs, and functional cities, which have generated jobs and provided energy for the region and the country. She further mentioned that Romania is exploring collaboration opportunities with India.
“My message to women is that you are the engineers of your society and your family. You must be brave, stay focused, and take on leadership roles to shape the nation,” Lesotho’s High Commissioner Mochaba told the women engineers.
Mickeviciene, the Ambassador of Lithuania, said it was “very inspiring” to see how barren, unused land had been turned into a hub for national development.
“Women are working at all levels in the group, from operations to top management… It is empowering to see women leading India’s green transformation,” she said. She also acknowledged Adani’s support for SHG women, who create handicrafts to sustain their families.
Seychelles Ambassador Accouche, the first woman from her country to become a high commissioner in India, expressed her gratitude: “I thank the Adani Group’s management for this. Women will play a crucial role in the education and growth of future generations.”
Estonia’s Ambassador Luup added, “It was fascinating to see women working across diverse fields. Witnessing large-scale solar panel production and the involvement of women in it was truly impressive.”
On International Women’s Day, she shared a message for Indian women: “It is always important to dream big so that you can achieve your goals one day.”
Moldova’s Ambassador Taban expressed her hope to see more Indian women in leadership roles across various fields. She also mentioned that she had purchased products from SHGs supported by the Adani Foundation as a memory of her visit.
Luxembourg’s Ambassador Frantzen was similarly impressed by the projects and the participation of young women engineers, saying their contributions were promoting women’s empowerment both socially and economically.
Slovenia’s Ambassador Vodeb Ghosh remarked, “The stories we have witnessed here are incredibly encouraging. Indian women are ready to participate actively in economic development and are making significant efforts to support their families.”
