Allocate Two Fixed Days a Week for Public Grievances in Government Offices – Divisional Commissioner Bidari
Nagpur : In line with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ 100-day action plan for effective governance, all government departments should designate two fixed days a week to address public grievances, ensuring citizens’ concerns are heard and resolved efficiently. Additionally, government offices should maintain cleanliness, provide seating arrangements for visitors, ensure access to drinking water, and make necessary arrangements for the summer season, directed Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari while addressing senior officials from various departments on Divisional Democracy Day today.
Citizens often need to visit various government offices to seek solutions to their problems. To address their concerns efficiently, department heads must be available for public interactions at least two days a week. In cases where the designated official is unable to attend due to workload, another officer must be assigned to meet the public. Information regarding these designated grievance days and timings should be displayed prominently outside government offices, instructed Ms. Bidari. This initiative aims to reduce the need for citizens to escalate their grievances to ministers or the state secretariat, ensuring proper guidance and timely resolutions at the local level.
Senior officials from various departments, including Nagpur Improvement Trust, Special Inspector General of Police, Municipal Corporation, District Collector’s Office, Zilla Parishad, Superintendent of Police, Energy Department, Public Works Department, Women and Child Development, Agriculture, and Transport, were present at the meeting.
