Cancel Jamkhed City’s Old Draft Development Plan and Prepare a New One – Deputy CM Eknath Shinde
Meeting Held Under the Chairmanship of Legislative Council Speaker Prof. Ram Shinde
Mumbai : While preparing the development plan for Jamkhed city, care must be taken to ensure no injustice is done to anyone. Due to numerous objections against the old draft development plan, it should be scrapped, and a new survey and assessment should be conducted to draft a fresh city development plan, directed Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde during a meeting at the Vidhan Bhavan. The meeting was chaired by Legislative Council Speaker Prof. Ram Shinde.
The meeting was attended by MLA Satyajit Tambe, Additional Chief Secretary of the Urban Development Department Asimkumar Gupta, Director of Town Planning Dr. Pratibha Bhadane, Prof. Madhukar Ralebhat, Advocate Pravin Sanap, Amit Chintamani, Manoj Kulkarni, Dr. Dnyaneshwar Zhende, Rahul Ankush Ugle, Shahaji Ramchandra Rajebhosale, Vinayak Raut, Avinash Salunke, and other representatives from Jamkhed. Jamkhed Municipal Council Chief Officer Ajay Salve and Assistant Director of Town Planning also participated via video conferencing.
The draft development plan for Jamkhed city was announced on December 26, 2018. After a survey, objections and suggestions were invited from the public, resulting in 614 objections from Jamkhed residents. Considering the citizens’ concerns, Prof. Ram Shinde organized this meeting.
Prof. Shinde stated that the draft development plan was created several years ago, and many objections have been raised by citizens. As Jamkhed city has expanded, the previous plan’s ring road and other roads now fall within city limits. Hence, a new survey and development plan must be formulated, incorporating the widening of the ring road and other roads.
Deputy CM Shinde emphasized that since more than 600 objections have been raised against the old draft, a detailed review and survey must be conducted. The errors in the previous plan should be corrected, and the new development plan must be transparent and fair to all citizens.
