Special Focus on the Progress of Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that Bhopal, being the capital of Madhya Pradesh, will witness rapid progress. He highlighted the successful organization of the recent Global Investors Summit in Bhopal and stressed the need for more such significant events in the city. The urban infrastructure in Bhopal is continuously being developed, including housing and other essential facilities. In the future, the metropolitan region will expand to include areas like Sehore, Vidisha, Narmadapuram, and Raisen. The government is committed to providing advanced facilities to meet the demands of the future and will continue to work towards holistic development in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047.

CM Dr. Yadav described Bhopal as one of the most beautiful and cleanest capital cities in the country. He noted that Prime Minister Modi stayed overnight in Bhopal during the Global Investors Summit, where he provided valuable guidance to entrepreneurs and investors. The state government envisions integrating the ‘City of Lakes’ with five other cities to establish a new model of urban development. This initiative will lead to the emergence of two metropolitan cities in Madhya Pradesh—Bhopal and Indore. The government is working on a 25-year development plan, focusing on sanitation, clean drinking water, sewage systems, and road infrastructure to support the growth of these metropolitan regions. Prime Minister Modi has provided special grants to Madhya Pradesh under the Smart City Project, aiming to ensure permanent housing for every underprivileged citizen.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing the inauguration ceremony of 364 newly constructed G-type government housing units under the first phase of the Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation project in Tatya Tope Nagar (TT Nagar) on Tuesday evening.

CM Dr. Yadav announced that the newly constructed government housing complex in Tatya Tope Nagar would be named after Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The first phase of this residential project has been completed at Rs. 116.26 crore, comprising 364 G-type housing units. During the event, the Chief Minister handed over house keys to beneficiaries, including Smt. Seema Tiwari, Smt. Kalpana Gurjar, Smt. Sangeeta Uike, and Shri Raghvendra Singh. He also directed Bhopal Municipal Corporation officials to complete the construction of F-type housing units under the second phase of the project within the next two to three months.

CM Dr. Yadav extended greetings and best wishes to the public on the occasion of Rangpanchami, linking Indian cultural traditions with nature. He stated that India has been a source of inspiration for the world for thousands of years, much like the Sun. Since ancient times, sages have associated every festival of the Sanatan culture with nature. He expressed that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India is currently experiencing its ‘Amrit Kaal,’ a period of great optimism and progress. The Chief Minister remarked that as families move into these smart city government housing units, they will experience a new level of comfort and happiness.

CM Dr. Yadav reiterated that Prime Minister Modi is committed to providing every citizen with a permanent home. To fulfil this goal, both central and state governments have launched several housing schemes for rural and urban areas, with provisions for subsidized interest rates on housing loans. The Chief Minister emphasized that in the past fifteen months, the state government has prioritized the welfare of all sections of society. Over the next five years, 2.5 lakh positions will be filled across various departments. Starting April 1, government employees will receive allowances equivalent to the 7th Pay Commission. Last year, the government approved two increments of 4% Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees. Efforts are also being made to ensure promotions for government employees.

CM Dr. Yadav reaffirmed that the government is advancing towards the vision of a ‘Developed Madhya Pradesh’ by 2047. Over the years, the state’s per capita income has significantly increased. In 2002-03, the per capita annual income was merely Rs. 11,000, which has now surged to Rs. 1,52,680. The government recently presented a welfare-oriented budget of Rs. 4.21 lakh crore, which is expected to grow to Rs. 7 lakh crore within five years and Rs. 250 lakh crore over the next 25 years. By then, Madhya Pradesh’s per capita income is projected to reach Rs. 22 lakh annually, reflecting the government’s commitment to ensuring prosperity for every citizen.

Addressing the event, Minister of Urban Development and Housing Mrs. Pratima Bagri highlighted that housing facilities are being developed for economically weaker sections as well as other social groups. Employees in Bhopal had been eagerly awaiting new housing under the Smart City project. MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani stated that the initiative is a crucial step for government employees who have been waiting for housing since 2016. He appreciated Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s commitment to rapid development with a people-centric approach.

The event was attended by MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Bhopal Mayor Smt Malti Rai, Bhopal Municipal Corporation President Kishan Shri Suryavanshi, Shri Ravindra Yati, Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department Shri Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Bhopal Municipal Commissioner Shri Harendra Narayan, along with senior officials, public representatives, and a large number of government employees.

After the ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav flagged off Bhopal’s first Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) Vehicle, initiated by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation. This vehicle will collect unused office papers and exchange them for useful paper products, promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility in the city.
