Lucknow : The admission process for the academic session 2025-26 has commenced at Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas, operated by the Social Welfare Department and Tribal Development Department. Selection will be conducted through an entrance exam for vacant seats in classes 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11 in these CBSE-recognized schools. Interested candidates can apply until March 22, 2025.
The entrance exam for classes 6 to 9 will be held on March 30, and the results will be announced on March 31. However, for class 11, there will be no entrance exam. Instead, admission will be based on a merit list prepared from 10th-grade marks.
There are a total of 70 seats available in classes 6 and 7, with 35 students per section, while admissions to classes 8 and 9 will be based on vacancies. In class 11, a maximum of 20 students will be selected.
As per the reservation policy, 60% of seats are allocated to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, 25% to Other Backward Classes, and 15% to General category students. Additionally, 85% of the seats are reserved for rural students, while 15% are allocated to urban students.
The entire selection process will be conducted under the supervision of the District Magistrate, ensuring transparency and fairness. The preparation and evaluation of question papers will be carried out by the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), following the same process as all Government Ashram System Schools in the state. The government has emphasized the need for transparency to ensure meritorious students receive high-quality education and equal opportunities.
