Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : Maharana Pratap Singh was a true patriot who fought for the nation till his last breath. The statue erected in his honor at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar stands as a source of inspiration for all of us, stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Maharana Pratap Singh’s legacy is one of immense pride and valor. He fought a prolonged battle for the protection of the country and is therefore regarded as a people’s leader of India. This newly installed statue serves as a beacon of inspiration for today’s generation and truly represents courage and inspiration, said Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The equestrian statue of Maharana Pratap Singh was unveiled today at the Connaught Garden of the Municipal Corporation in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Guardian Minister Sanjay Shirsat, OBC Welfare Minister Atul Save, Marketing Minister Jaykumar Rawal, Opposition Leader Ambadas Danve, MPs Dr. Bhagwat Karad and Sandipan Bhumre, MLAs Pradeep Jaiswal, Narayan Kuche, Anuradha Chavan, Sanjay Kenekar, Maharana Pratap Singh’s descendant Lakshyaraj Singh, and Municipal Commissioner G. Srikant were also present.
Chief Minister Fadnavis expressed happiness over the statue’s unveiling, stating that the statue erected through the Municipal Corporation and unveiled by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was a moment of great pride. With statues of both Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Maharana Pratap Singh present in Sambhajinagar, the city lacks no source of inspiration. Maharana Pratap Singh never submitted to the Mughals, instead choosing to sacrifice his life for Swarajya, like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. We enjoy freedom today because of such brave souls. This statue is not just a monument but a symbol of motivation. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the vision of transitioning from a free India to a developed India is being realized through the inspiration of such valiant figures, he added.
CM Fadnavis further said that under PM Modi’s leadership, the nation’s standards and rich heritage are being redefined and celebrated. During this transformative phase, Maharana Pratap Singh’s statue in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar serves as a renewed source of inspiration. He heartily congratulated the people of Sambhajinagar and urged everyone to follow the path of these brave leaders.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed deep happiness at unveiling the statue, describing it as a true representation of inspiration, ideals, and bravery. He emphasized that today’s generation must draw inspiration from national heroes like Maharana Pratap Singh and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and understand their true histories. These legendary figures never discriminated and always worked in the public interest. They remain sources of inspiration for all freedom fighters, he said.
He also highlighted how Maharana Pratap Singh played a significant role in uniting society. All communities supported him, and his legacy remains eternally inspirational. The statue in Sambhajinagar will continually motivate us with his valor, and future generations should look up to his ideals, he urged.
Rajnath Singh also noted that under PM Modi’s leadership, India is being recognized with respect on the global stage. From being the world’s 11th largest economy in 2014, India has now risen to the 5th position. He expressed confidence that India will soon be among the top three economies globally.
Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde said that Maharana Pratap Singh’s history is immensely inspiring and exemplary. Rajasthan, his homeland, is known as the land of the brave. His sacrifices and hard work are ideal for today’s youth, he said, while recounting the highlights of Pratap Singh’s career.
Guardian Minister Sanjay Shirsat said that the proposal for Maharana Pratap Singh’s statue was passed during his tenure in the Municipal Corporation. With the statue now beautifully installed, a long-cherished dream has been fulfilled.
Minister Atul Save gave the introductory speech and elaborated on the journey of erecting the statue. Municipal Commissioner G. Srikant proposed the vote of thanks.
