Youth should participate in ‘one nation-one election’ campaign for India’s rapid progress – Dr. Arvind Sharma

Chandigarh :  Haryana Cooperation Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has made ‘One Nation-One Election’ a mass movement to fulfill the resolution of Viksit Bharat. He appealed everyone to support this initiative to reduce the financial, social, and political burden of frequent elections in the country. 

Cooperation Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma participated as the Chief Guest in the 44th annual function and prize distribution ceremony of Government College for Women, Gohana on Saturday. His wife, Dr. Rita Sharma, was also present at the event. 

While speaking on the occasion he said that in the past ten and a half years, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has taken many historic steps to support and empower daughters. From birth to education and employment, the government has created a favorable environment for girls. As a result, girls today are shining in every field, be it academics, culture, sports, or other fields. He congratulated the students of the college for their excellent performance.

He said that Prime Minister, Sh. Modi is continuously taking strong decisions to help India grow on the global stage. Due to frequent elections, government machinery is often busy in election work, which slows down development works. A campaign is going on in the country, in which representatives of social, religious organizations, local bodies, Panchayati Raj institutions have started sending their proposals in support of one nation-one election to the name of President Smt. Droupadi Murmu. He encouraged young people, especially girls, to actively participate in this initiative so that their job opportunities and selection processes are not disrupted again and again due to elections and the Model Code of Conduct.

At the event, Dr. Arvind Sharma felicitated talented girl students for their achievements. He also accepted the college’s request for a digital library and announced Rs. 25 lakh from his discretionary fund for the same. He appealed to the students to make full use of the library so that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, they can get better opportunities based on merit without any Kharchi and Parchi. He also announced the installation of two water coolers in the college considering the upcoming summer season.
