State Government Working with Spirit of Service for Public Welfare: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government is working in mission mode to fulfill Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a Developed India @2047. He stated that the state has launched four mission-driven welfare schemes for the poor, youth, farmers (Annadata), and women empowerment, ensuring that benefits reach the grassroots.
Speaking at the ‘State of the States Conclave’, Dr. Yadav emphasided that service and action are the guiding principles of governance, and society itself evaluates the outcomes of good governance. He highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is currently the fastest-growing state in India in terms of economic growth.
As part of its forward-looking approach, the state has declared 2025 as the ‘Year of Industry’. Major efforts to boost industrial investment include Regional Industry Conclaves (RIC) across divisions and the Global Investors Summit (GIS 2025) in Bhopal, which together attracted investment proposals worth over ₹30 lakh crore. The state’s Industrial growth rate now exceeds 12%.
The Chief Minister said the government is committed to the mantra of ‘Development with Heritage’, and is making every possible effort to place Madhya Pradesh in the front ranks of progress. This year, the government has presented a budget of ₹4.21 lakh crore, reflecting the state’s growth trajectory.
At the conclave, two minutes of silence was observed in honor of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Dr. Yadav noted that over 100 industrial parks have already been established across the state, and that investors from all sectors are turning to Madhya Pradesh. He pointed out that even cotton-based industries from South India are relocating to the state, and large-scale job opportunities will open up in the coming years. Recruitment for government positions is also ongoing, with a target of 2.5 lakh jobs over the next five years.
He stated that comprehensiveefforts are underway to make agriculture profitable, including MSP increases—wheat now procured at ₹2,600 per quintal, up from ₹600 earlier. Farmers are being encouraged to cultivate alternative crops like pulses and oilseeds that require less water and investment. To enhance dairy farming, the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Kamdhenu Scheme has been launched, under which cowherds can maintain units ranging from 25 to 200 cows, with a 25% government subsidy. These steps will not only increase milk production but also create more jobs. The state has also entered a cooperative agreement with the National Dairy Development Board, inspired by Gujarat’s dairy success model.
On the international front, the Chief Minister stated that India will soon surpass Japan and Germany in terms of economic strength, and that the state is working to boost youth skill development to meet manpower shortages in these nations. The state is also exploring ways to adopt cutting-edge technologies from technologically advanced countries like Japan and Germany.
The new Industrial Policy includes provisions for land allocation to employment-oriented industries, along with tax exemptions and subsidies. A Single Window System is in place to facilitate industrial establishment. District-level cells have been formed under the guidance of Collectors to coordinate required approvals for new industrial units.
Dr. Yadav highlighted central government’s support for major river-linking projects like Ken-Betwa (KB) and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC), which will enhance the state’s irrigated area. Given that major rivers like Narmada and Ken originate in Madhya Pradesh, and its forests sustain these rivers, national-level initiatives should be established to aid forest conservation.
Promoting All Forms of Tourism
The Chief Minister shared that a new tourism policy has been framed to promote all forms of tourism
including health tourism, with the opening of new medical colleges and services like air ambulances. Religious tourism is being boosted through conservation of heritage temples, the Ram Van Gaman Path, and sacred sites.
Dr. Yadav concluded by recalling the grandeur of Samrat Vikramaditya’s administration in Ujjain, whose ideals of justice, compassion, courage, and selfless service were brought to life at the grand musical drama ‘Vikramaditya Mahanaatya’ at the Red Fort. Echoing those values, the Madhya Pradesh Government continues to work with the spirit of service for the welfare of its citizens.
