Make Maharashtra the First Homeless-Free State in the Country – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s Appeal

Pune : Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Rural Development Department has performed excellently, and an additional 10 lakh houses will be approved from the Centre. After the approval of these houses, efforts must be made at the campaign level to provide land and ensure no individual remains homeless. Through this, make the state the first homeless-free state in the country, appealed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He also urged for proper human resource management and greater use of technology to make administration more people-oriented and dynamic.

The Chief Minister was speaking at the state-level workshop organized by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department at YASHADA. The program was attended by Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Jaykumar Gore, Minister of State Yogesh Kadam, Principal Secretary Eknath Dvle, YASHADA’s Director General Niranjan Sudhanshu, and the Chief Minister’s Secretary Shrikar Pardeshi.

Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that for good governance, the development of human resources is crucial. He emphasized on utilizing the available human resources efficiently and creating systems that understand and use advanced technology. He also encouraged replicating successful ideas from other regions. The lessons learned from the workshop would be significant for improving the state’s administrative system. The various experiments conducted by experienced officers could serve as guidance for others, and if these are compiled and understood, it will help make governance more people-oriented.

The Chief Minister further mentioned that from the very first day, solar energy would be provided to houses approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana through the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. He urged officials to make efforts to provide manpower and funds for these works through various schemes, and expressed confidence that this would also create employment opportunities.

Reward for Excellent Performance in 100-Day Program

The state government has launched a 100-day program, and all regional offices have actively participated in it. The Rural Development Department has performed excellently in this program. After reviewing this program, guidance will be provided on effective working methods for the state. After the review by the “Quality Council of India,” officers who performed excellently will be recognized, and their work will be documented. This will inspire others to perform well. Through this program, changes in the functioning of the state’s 12,500 offices have been achieved, bringing transparency in operations and enhancing the credibility of the administration.

The Chief Minister also emphasized overcoming flaws in the Jal Jeevan Mission and implementing the plan effectively. He recommended focusing on trained human resources for running the schemes after their completion. He encouraged the workshop participants to think about ways to ensure quality work, focusing on capacity building and training. He also instructed that officers and contractors receive training to improve construction standards.

Focus on Health Sector Improvements in the Next Five Years

The state has made significant investments in the health sector, and it is necessary to accelerate its growth. In the next five years, the focus will be on improving health facilities for citizens. Efforts must be made to ensure high-quality government health facilities are available within every five-kilometer radius. By improving Primary Health Centers and Sub-centers, better health facilities can be provided to the common people, said the Chief Minister.

Collective Efforts are Needed for Holistic Development

For improvements in the educational sector, cooperation from all concerned sectors is essential. Reforms should begin from Anganwadi centers. Good facilities can be provided through the participation of voluntary organizations. Focus should also be placed on water conservation, industry promotion, convergence of various schemes, and solid waste and sewage management. Care must be taken to prevent pollution in rivers and streams. Through initiatives like the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, women can be empowered, bringing about significant transformation. By providing women in self-help groups with mobile markets, their products can reach customers, the Chief Minister stated.

Rural Development Department’s Goal to Build 30 Lakh Houses – Minister Jaykumar Gore

Minister Jaykumar Gore mentioned that 13.5 lakh houses have already been approved, and the first installment for 10 lakh houses has been paid. Out of these, 46,000 houses have been completed. The goal of the Rural Development Department is to build 30 lakh houses, and efforts are underway to make land available for this.

The Chief Minister also announced that the process for the “Samruddh Gram Yojana” (Prosperous Village Scheme) has begun, and the goal is to achieve 100% implementation of government schemes in these villages. This scheme will help make villages self-sufficient. Villages that perform well under this scheme will be rewarded. Special efforts are being made to enhance public trust in the District Councils.

Principal Secretary Mr. Dvle’s Presentation

Principal Secretary Eknath Dvle gave an introductory presentation about the workshop. Out of 21 points in the 100-day program, action has been taken on 20. Various districts have implemented innovative programs to provide better facilities to citizens. The first day of the program involved discussions on various topics such as the Umed Campaign, health insurance schemes, education, and the use of artificial intelligence.

Inaugurations and Publications by the Chief Minister

The Chief Minister inaugurated several projects under the 100-day program, including the Single Unified Portal developed by the Rural Development Department, the Housing Distribution App developed by the Director of Rural Housing, the Bhumi Labh Portal, the Mahawas Dashboard, and the PMAY and NREGA Dashboards. He also unveiled a video created under the National Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.

The Chief Minister released a booklet on innovative initiatives implemented by the 20 district councils and the quarterly Mahawas magazine. The Chief Minister also instructed officials to engage in discussions within groups to prepare documents related to the best ideas and improvements in work processes.

The event was attended by all divisional commissioners of the state, Chief Executive Officers of District Councils, additional CEOs, and project directors of the district rural development machinery.
