Mumbai : Jammu and Kashmir’s Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, met with Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, in Mumbai today and expressed satisfaction over the security measures taken by the Maharashtra government for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary interacted with students, professionals, and traders from Jammu and Kashmir who are studying or working in Maharashtra, and instilled confidence in them regarding their safety.
Choudhary emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of Jammu and Kashmir residents living in Maharashtra and requested Eknath Shinde to take all necessary steps for their welfare.
In response, Eknath Shinde assured full cooperation and stated that the Maharashtra government and the people of Maharashtra share a strong bond with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and are committed to their safety.
As per the instructions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary met separately with students from various colleges and universities, employees in the private sector, and professionals to gather information about their safety and welfare. He also met with senior police officers.
Choudhary reiterated that the safety of Jammu and Kashmir residents is the government’s highest priority. He stated, “We will make every effort to ensure the safety of our people until the very end.”
Expressing solidarity, Choudhary added that the Omar Abdullah government is always concerned about the welfare of its people and is fully committed to their safety. He also advised students and other residents to contact the official helpline numbers issued by the administration for any assistance.
