Bhatti Reviews Telangana Security; CM Revanth Donates Salary to Defence Fund

Hyderabad – In the wake of rising cross-border tensions following Operation Sindoor, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu chaired a high-level meeting on Friday to review and strengthen the state’s internal security measures.

The meeting was attended by senior state officials, including IT Minister Sridhar Babu, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Chief Secretary A. Ramakrishna Rao, DGP Anjani Kumar Jitender, and police commissioners from Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda.

Deputy CM Bhatti instructed the police to formulate a detailed action plan and ensure public preparedness through awareness campaigns and mock drills. He emphasized the importance of alerting the public at least 24 hours in advance for any precautionary measures and advised the installation of siren alert systems across Hyderabad and other zones.

A special control room has also been set up at Telangana Bhavan in Delhi to monitor the safety of Telangana students and citizens living in other states.

Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao informed that security has been tightened at all defence-related industries in the state, and hospitals have been directed to mark rooftops with red cross signs for aerial visibility.

DGP Jitender reported the deployment of three-tier security at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, enhanced surveillance at major bus and railway stations, and the activation of cybercrime teams to counter fake news and misinformation on social media. He also mentioned that the state is exploring a Ukraine-style mobile alert system to issue emergency warnings to citizens in real-time.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that he is donating one month’s salary to the National Defence Fund in support of the armed forces. “I stand with our jawans. As an Indian first, I am making a small contribution,” he posted on social media platform X, encouraging ministers, MLAs, and citizens to do the same.

The Chief Minister’s gesture came a day after he led a solidarity march in Hyderabad, expressing unity with the armed forces amid the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict.
