Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao Attends Mass Ideal Wedding Ceremony

Announces ₹15 Lakh for Community Shed Construction and a Grand Welcome Gate on Bagbahara-Pithora Route

Raipur : Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao participated as the chief guest at the Golden Jubilee Mass Ideal Wedding Ceremony organized by the Surmal Sahu community in Ghoyanbahara, Bagbahara block, Mahasamund district. A total of 28 couples were formally married during the event. Elderly couples who laid the foundation for this ceremony in 1975 were specially honoured on the occasion.

While addressing the gathering, Deputy CM Shri Sao said that this event is a remarkable example of social harmony, unity, and family values. Maintaining this tradition consistently for 50 years is truly commendable. The collective spirit and cooperation showcased here are a source of new inspiration for future generations. He extended his blessings to all newlywed couples and wished them a joyful, prosperous, and fulfilling married life.

During the ceremony, Shri Sao announced a grant of ₹15 lakh for the construction of a community shed in Ghoyanbahara. He also declared the construction of a grand welcome gate on the Bagbahara–Pithora road, which will further strengthen the cultural identity of the region.

MP Smt. Roopkumari Choudhary, who also addressed the gathering, highlighted that the mass wedding ceremony, started in 1975, has now evolved into a social movement. It symbolizes not just weddings, but also social awareness, coexistence, and equality. She congratulated the organizing committee and encouraged the preservation of this rich cultural legacy.

The event was graced by MLA Shri Dwarkadhish Yadav, Chairman of Telghani Board Shri Jitendra Sahu, former MP Shri Chunnilal Sahu, District President of Sahu Samaj Shri Dharmdas Sahu, District Scout and Guide Association President Shri Yetram Sahu, Surmal Sahu community patrons Shri Narayan Lal Sahu, Shri Bhekhlal Sahu, and Shri Devesh Sahu, along with hundreds of dignitaries and local villagers.
