Chief Minister Hovin Sawhthing Processing Chungchang Meeting

Aizawl : Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma presided over a meeting discussing the processing of Sawhthing Slice Dry.

During the meeting, MAMB introduced a proposal for local entrepreneurs to engage in the production of Sawhthing Slice Dry. Discussions included strategies for increasing production and improving market access.

The meeting also emphasized the need to establish a processing unit in Mizoram. Representatives from Indian and foreign firms discussed their respective areas of interest and shared insights into their future plans. A committee was formed to oversee further developments.

As part of the discussion, the Sawhthing market in Bangladesh was also considered. The Society reported on their progress in the meeting.

A report on the Sawhthing crop production was also presented. The government has allocated Rs. 62.599 crore for notified crops. MAMB has already released Rs. 20 crore to the government. The third release under DAMC amounted to Rs. 58,08,00,100. The total Sawhthing crop production for the year stands at 1,13,627 quintals. These are purchased directly at the support price. In terms of additional investments, MAMB has invested Rs. 6,34,63,875.

Present at the meeting were Pu PC Vanlalruata, Agriculture Minister, Pu F. Rodingliana, Industry Minister, Dr. KC Lalmalsawmzauva, Adviser to the CM, along with other key officials.
