H&FW Minister Pi Lalrinpuii Attends Govt. J. Buana College Valedictory Day 2025
Lunglei : Mizoram Health & Family Welfare Minister Pi Lalrinpuii graced the Valedictory Day of Government J. Buana College (GJBC) Class of 2025 as Chief Guest today at the College’s Multipurpose Hall.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Pi Lalrinpuii highlighted Mizoram’s recognition as a fully literate state, underscoring that Mizos are a community that values education highly and often excels beyond other communities in the field of learning. She expressed appreciation for the presence of capable and well-prepared graduates at GJBC, stating that such students reflect dedication and perseverance, which will lead them to success not only for themselves but also for their families.
She urged students to be diligent and knowledgeable, without complacency, and to strive for excellence in both academic and practical skills. She further emphasized the importance of hard work and resilience in any job they take up.
The Minister also touched upon Mizoram’s ongoing battle against drug abuse and HIV/AIDS, encouraging the youth to remain vigilant and steer clear of destructive habits while raising awareness among others.
Speaking on the government’s efforts to support the underprivileged, Pi Lalrinpuii shared that multiple initiatives have been implemented to assist those struggling due to illness and poverty. She highlighted the launch of the Mizoram Universal Healthcare Scheme (MUHCS), which aims to provide accessible and affordable healthcare without imposing financial burdens, reaffirming that the government’s top priority is the welfare of the people.
The Valedictory Day 2025 was also attended by Lunglei Municipal Council Vice Chairman Pu K. Lalrinawma and Prof. Lalbiakdiki Hnamte, Director of the College Development Council, Mizoram University. Vanlalpekhlua from the Department of Public Administration was declared the Valedictorian, and both Vanlalpekhlua and K. Vanlalruata from the Department of English were presented with the ‘Best Library User Award.’
Government J. Buana College was established on August 26, 1983. At present, the college has 375 students and 33 faculty members. It offers undergraduate programs across nine departments: Commerce, Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Mizo, Political Science, and Public Administration. This year, 114 students from the final semester are set to graduate.
