Khamenei Declares “Battle Has Begun” as Iran-Israel Conflict Escalates

Tel Aviv : The Iran-Israel conflict has entered a critical phase, with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei proclaiming that the “battle has begun” following Iran’s launch of a hypersonic missile at Israel. The dramatic escalation has pushed the volatile standoff into its sixth consecutive day, with no sign of de-escalation.

Israel has responded with a series of punishing airstrikes deep into Iranian territory, killing at least 224 people, including senior military officials, nuclear scientists, and civilians. Iran, in retaliation, has launched multiple attacks on Israeli cities, resulting in the deaths of at least 24 individuals, including women and children, according to Israeli sources.

Tensions soared on Tuesday when the Israeli military confirmed further missile launches originating from Iran, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.

The unfolding crisis has triggered global alarm. U.S. President Donald Trump, attending the G7 summit in Canada, abruptly cut his visit short to address the spiraling conflict. Before departing, he reiterated the United States’ unwavering support for Israel and issued a stern warning to Tehran’s residents, urging them to evacuate in anticipation of possible military escalation.

The conflict erupted last Friday when Israel launched a large-scale military operation aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure. Tehran responded swiftly, intensifying hostilities and drawing international concern over a potential full-scale war.

Amid this backdrop, efforts to revive diplomatic talks on Iran’s nuclear program remain suspended, raising questions about the region’s stability.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel’s actions have substantially set back Iran’s nuclear program. “I believe we have set them back a very, very long time,” he told reporters, underscoring Israel’s intent to prevent Iran from advancing its nuclear ambitions.
