Consultation Meeting Held in Kolasib on Implementation of DAJGUA Campaign

A consultation meeting on the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) was held today at the Kolasib DC Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pu Robert C. Lalhmangaiha. The meeting focused on the implementation strategy, necessities, and various aspects of the campaign. Line departments also shared their views and inputs during the session.

Chairing the meeting, DC Pu Robert C. Lalhmangaiha highlighted the government’s intent behind DAJGUA, emphasizing its commitment to tribal welfare. He stated that although the Constitution acknowledges tribal rights, they are often unaware of the benefits they are entitled to due to lack of awareness. The DAJGUA campaign, therefore, aims to ensure that people—especially in tribal areas—are fully informed about various welfare schemes and can access them easily and effectively.

The DC pointed out that many departments are working in silos and citizens often struggle to navigate the system. Hence, through this campaign, departmental representatives will reach out directly to the people in their own villages. These saturation camps will ensure comprehensive delivery of services and help bridge the gap between citizens and the administration.

Various departments participated in the meeting, presenting their preparedness for implementing the campaign and sharing challenges they anticipate in the field.

The DAJGUA campaign is scheduled to take place in Kolasib district between 26th and 28th June 2025 across 12 villages. Services to be offered during this period include:

  • Setting up local saturation camps
  • Aadhaar card enrollment
  • Ayushman Bharat health scheme registration
  • Pension scheme facilitation
  • PM Kisan Yojana registration, and more.

Public awareness will be increased through banners and hoardings.

About DAJGUA
Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. It aims to ensure focused and accelerated development in tribal communities by improving access to welfare schemes and essential services in areas such as health, education, livelihood, and social security. The campaign involves convergence of 17 central ministries and 25 key interventions, targeting more than 63,000 villages across various states and union territories, with an outreach goal of over 50 million tribal beneficiaries.

A key feature of DAJGUA is the “Awareness and Benefit Saturation Campaign” being run across the country from 15th to 30th June 2025, focusing on delivering Aadhaar cards, ration cards, health cards (Ayushman Bharat), immunization services, bank accounts, and pension scheme coverage to tribal populations through local camps.

Today’s consultation meeting was attended by ADC Pi B. Malsawmtluangi, DAJGUA nodal officers in Kolasib, representatives from various line departments, and members of the Sub-Headquarters YMA (Young Mizo Association).
