Serving Humanity Brings Greatest Joy: Dy CM Vijay Sharma

Raipur, Nov 2025 : Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vijay Sharma, while interacting with the medical students and doctors at the Charak Auditorium of Swami Baliram Smriti Medical College during his brief one-day visit, said that for doctors, no happiness or joy is greater than serving human health.

He praised the initiative of conducting health camps in sensitive villages near security camps, calling it a unique opportunity for medical students and doctors to connect with the people of Bastar and gain invaluable experience. “I congratulate the college dean and his team for accepting our suggestion and organizing one- or two-day health camps in these sensitive villages. The joy and satisfaction of providing healthcare in such areas cannot be bought with money,” he said.

Shri Sharma added that not only medical college doctors but also senior doctors from Raipur have come to Bastar’s districts to hold health camps. He urged the budding doctors being trained at the college to develop a mindset of serving in rural regions. During the programme, the Deputy Chief Minister interacted with the 18-member team that participated in the health camps and appreciated their work. He also met the medical students from Bastar division and learned about their respective districts.

Jagdalpur MLA Shri Kiran Singh Deo said that the government is doing commendable work in restoring peace in Bastar. He welcomed the initiative of organizing medical camps in sensitive villages to provide better healthcare services to the community. He congratulated the team of Bastar Medical College for conducting the health camps. “Serving in Bastar, a region rich in natural beauty, while understanding its art and culture, is a wonderful opportunity. All doctors should take part in such initiatives, as they create a highly positive impact on the local population,” he said.

Inspector General Shri Sundarraj P. also congratulated the doctors and discussed future plans with the health and medical college teams, emphasizing the need to continue organizing health camps in sensitive areas.

Among those present at the event were MLA from Chitrakot Shri Vinayak Goyal, Commissioner Shri Doman Singh, Collector Shri Haris S., Superintendent of Police Shri Shalabh Sinha, Dean Dr. Pradeep Bek, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Anurup Sahu, medical students, and other officials.
