MSME is the backbone of Vikasit Madhya Pradesh and Atmanirbhar Bharat

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are not only the backbone of India’s economy but also a vital force in empowering millions through self-reliance and dignified employment. Recognizing their significance, the United Nations General Assembly declared 27 June as ‘International MSME Day’ in 2017. The day aims to raise awareness about the crucial role MSMEs play in achieving the goals of sustainable development.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the government aims to ensure self-employment or employment for at least one member of every family through the MSME sector. He highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also recognized MSMEs as the backbone of India’s industrial framework. Emphasizing their transformative role in the nation’s economic growth, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurturing and empowering this vital sector.

Currently, the number of MSMEs across the country has surpassed 6 crore, reflecting the sector’s rapid growth and importance. Over the past decade, credit availability for MSMEs has seen a substantial rise, from Rs 12 lakh crore ten years ago to Rs 30 lakh crore today. The loan guarantee cover has also been increased to Rs 20 crore.
