Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated new school buildings and distributed educational supplies in Kanchipuram

Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin today virtually inaugurated several newly constructed school buildings across Kanchipuram district, built at a total cost of ₹13.94 crore. The facilities include classroom blocks, auditoriums, and sports facilities. Educational grants, textbooks, stationery, and mid-day meal supplies were also distributed to students.

Key highlights of the event:

  • In Kanchipuram’s Arulmigu Ekambaranathar Cedriculation School & Higher Secondary School, a Rs.11.15 crore two-storey classroom block with smart classrooms, labs, library, teacher rooms, computers, and infrastructure was inaugurated.
  • In schools at Sulur Nadu, Anjugam and Chudakovillai, Rs.2.79 crore was spent constructing dining halls, auditoriums, classrooms, and sports facilities, along with renovating older buildings.
  • Over the past four years, 25 schools and a Polytechnic college plus 10 colleges around Ekambareswarar Temple were developed with infrastructure investments totalling ₹138.13 crore.
  • Chief Minister Stalin launched 32 modern classrooms, smart facilities, and other amenities, personally reviewing the Ekambaranathar School campus and interacting with students.
  • Educational awards and mid-day meals were provided to over 1,400 students (252 from grades 10–12 received Rs.10,000 each plus stationery and books, 1,131 younger students received supplies, and 40 students received bicycles).

The schools are part of Ekambaranathar Temple’s spiritual and social mission, offering education, training centers, old-age homes, mental wellness centers, and health clinics. Under the temple’s initiative, about 22,455 students are enrolled in these institutions, including 25 schools and one polytechnic college.

Conclusion:
Chief Minister Stalin commended the temple’s efforts and emphasized the state government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure in temple towns. The inauguration reflects a collaborative spirit between government and religious institutions to uplift rural education in Tamil Nadu.
