IPRD to Move Ahead with a New Approach – Departmental Activities Reviewed by Principal Secretary and Commissioner
Jaipur : The Information and Public Relations Department of Rajasthan will now function with a new approach to effectively communicate the state government’s welfare schemes and programmes to every citizen. Keeping in view the evolving nature of public communication, the department will lay special focus on new media platforms alongside traditional publicity methods. To achieve this, the department will be technically strengthened, and officials will undergo skill enhancement through various training programmes.
During a review meeting held at the department’s headquarters on Thursday, Principal Secretary Mrs. Archana Singh and Commissioner Mr. Sandesh Nayak issued necessary guidelines to departmental officers. Mrs. Singh emphasized that the department plays a crucial role in delivering government policies, schemes, and decisions to the masses. Given the rapid transformation in media and the growing role of technology in communication, it is essential for the department to adopt latest publicity tools and techniques.
She held detailed discussions with the heads of all departmental branches about their responsibilities and work practices. She instructed that branding of government schemes should be executed in a way that their benefits reach even the most marginalized individuals. Government publicity should be creative, informative, and citizen-centric. Special attention must be paid to targeted messaging, ensuring that the right message reaches the right audience at the right time.
Commissioner Sandesh Nayak elaborated on the different mediums of public outreach such as print, electronic, social, and outdoor media. He said the department serves as the eyes, ears, and voice of the state government, and urged officials to approach their roles with a positive and constructive mindset, contributing to the betterment of public life. He also reviewed subjects like RJHS, journalist accreditation, and journalist welfare schemes, instructing that related tasks be completed on priority.
Mr. Nayak visited all major departmental branches located at the headquarters, including the Advertisement, Field Publicity, Electronic Media, News, Social Media, Publications, Photography, Research and Reference, and Rajasthan Samvad units. He inspected the ongoing activities and assured that necessary resources will be made available to improve functioning across all branches.
