Jaipur : Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the ‘Give Up’ campaign—encouraging ineligible individuals receiving benefits under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) to voluntarily relinquish their claims—is being successfully implemented across Rajasthan. Jaipur district currently ranks first in the state for the highest number of voluntary surrenders.
So far, 1,92,272 ineligible persons in Jaipur have voluntarily opted out of the food security beneficiary list. District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni has been actively monitoring the implementation and progress of the campaign. Expressing gratitude to public representatives, officials, and the families who gave up their benefits, he urged continued dedication to the cause.
According to District Food and Civil Supplies Officer Shri Trilokchand Meena, the campaign is being run intensively from the district headquarters to the gram panchayat level. Through night chaupals, public hearings, gram sabhas, and various outreach programs, community leaders, officials, and civil society members are encouraging eligible citizens to voluntarily step aside if they no longer qualify.

As per the Collector’s instructions, notices have been issued to 1,536 ineligible individuals in Jaipur who did not voluntarily remove their names from the NFSA list. The Food Department has announced that the ‘Give Up’ campaign will run until 31 August 2025.
Individuals who voluntarily withdraw from the list by 31 August will face no penalty. However, after the deadline, the government will initiate recovery at a rate of ₹27 per kg, along with interest. Lists of government employees who failed to give up will be prepared, and their respective departments will be asked to recover the dues via salary deductions.
