Jodhpur Discom Teams Remain Alert Amid Torrential Rain; Women Engineers Active in the Field, 604 Complaints Resolved Swiftly
Prompt Response to 73 Safety Issues; MD Dr. Bhanwarlal Issues 7 Key Safety Guidelines for the Public
Jaipur : Despite heavy rainfall over the past two days disrupting normal life across Jodhpur division, teams from the Jodhpur Electricity Distribution Corporation (Discom) remained fully alert and active on the ground. To maintain uninterrupted power supply, officers and technical staff continuously monitored the situation through field visits. Notably, women engineers also played an active role during the rains, participating equally in identifying faults and restoring power.
Instances of electric poles falling and technical faults in transformers were reported during the downpour. However, Discom teams responded swiftly without wasting time and began repair work immediately. Their quick action and commitment during the crisis brought much-needed relief to consumers.
Swift Redressal of 604 Power Complaints and Immediate Action on 73 Safety Issues
During the rainfall period, Jodhpur Discom successfully resolved 604 complaints related to power outages by reaching affected locations promptly. In addition, 73 critical safety-related complaints were prioritized and addressed immediately. The entire operation was closely monitored by Discom Managing Director Dr. Bhanwarlal, who remained in constant communication with field officers, reviewing the situation at every level and issuing necessary instructions.
Dr. Bhanwarlal Appeals for Caution, Issues 7 Important Safety Tips
Dr. Bhanwarlal also appealed to the public to exercise extra caution while handling electricity during rains. He shared seven vital guidelines to prevent electrical accidents:
- Do not touch any electrical appliances with wet hands.
- Keep a safe distance from exposed wires and electric poles.
- Avoid going near transformers or fuse conductors.
- Ensure regular checks of your home’s earthing system.
- Avoid using temporary power connections.
- In case of an issue, immediately call the helpline at 18001806045.
- Prevent children from playing in waterlogged areas.
Dr. Bhanwarlal emphasized that while the department is committed to ensuring continuous electricity supply, public vigilance is equally essential. He directed all superintending engineers to respond swiftly in emergencies and deploy additional teams as required.
