Bharat and Spain Are Carriers of Ancient Civilisations—Now Will Partner in Industrial Growth: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that India and Spain are both ancient civilisations that have evolved based on moral values and cultural heritage. He said “Our countries are like twin brothers, now we shall advance together in the field of development as well”. CM Dr. Yadav was addressing the Invest in MP Business Forum Meet held in Madrid during the first day of his four-day official visit to Spain. He highlighted Spain’s strong identity not only in culture but also in technology.
CM Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is India’s fastest-growing state and investing here is undoubtedly a profitable decision. He said, showcasing the state’s unique strengths to investors, “If you are considering investing in India, you must visit Madhya Pradesh once—you would not forget it”.
CM Dr. Yadav outlined the immense potential for investment in minerals, tourism, large-scale industries, pharmaceuticals, technology-driven sectors and more. He said, “Madhya Pradesh is witnessing the fastest growth in Indian tourism sector. The state has abundant land, and with the use of new technologies, there is vast scope for development. Centrally located, Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a leader in logistics”. He added, “Even if you set up an industry in any other Indian state, you will still need Madhya Pradesh”.
CM Dr. Yadav stated the Madhya Pradesh is well connected through roads, national highways, railways and airways to the rest of India and the world. The state is accelerating across all sectors and contributing significantly to the national economy. He pointed out major opportunities in food processing, solar energy, wind energy, agri-based industries and textiles, assuring investors of world-class facilities in every sector.
CM Dr. Yadav urged investors to partner with Madhya Pradesh without hesitation, emphasising the state’s 18 advanced industrial policies. He assured that Madhya Pradesh would not fall short in delivering capital returns to investors. He also noted that the progress of the state has impressed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Government of India is offering multiple incentives to both domestic and foreign investors choosing to invest in Madhya Pradesh.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state’s growing number of medical colleges, as well as the interest of domestic and international companies in medical devices. He said medical tourism is also gaining momentum in Madhya Pradesh.
CM Dr. Yadav praised Spain for its peace-loving nature, community development, technological adoption and passion for football, all of which contribute to its strong economy. He pointed out that Spain is India’s sixth-largest trade partner, with bilateral trade currently at $9.32 billion. He said, “Every step taken by Spanish investors toward Madhya Pradesh, will prove to be a milestone in business and trade development”.

Principal Secretary Tourism Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla said, “Madhya Pradesh is a land of rich history and heritage, with 18 of India’s 62 UNESCO World Heritage sites located in the state. The state is deeply rooted in culture and spirituality, home to two Jyotirlingas and the revered Narmada River, one of the world’s oldest rivers. Shri Raghvendra Singh, Principal Secretary of the Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, described Madhya Pradesh as a trustworthy investment destination with vast potential. The state’s geographical expanse, resource availability, skilled human capital and stable leadership make it an ideal destination for industries. Trade between India and Spain is steadily growing. India exported goods worth €5.93 billion to Spain in 2024, with Madhya Pradesh contributing €58.5 million, particularly in organic chemicals, electrical machinery and textiles.

India’s Ambassador to Spain, Shri Dinesh Kumar Patnaik, highlighted that in India’s federal system, state governments independently shape their economic policies, playing a pivotal role in attracting global investment. He emphasised that Madhya Pradesh is progressing rapidly not only in culture and natural resources but also in technology, artificial intelligence, industry and renewable energy. The Ambassador underscored that the direct engagement of top state leadership with investors is a strong signal of security and commitment.

Additional Chief Secretary for Science and Technology, Shri Sanjay Dubey, said that Madhya Pradesh is fast emerging as India’s new technology hub. The country’s tech advancement is now being led not by large metros, but by Tier-2 cities like Bhopal and Indore, with MP playing a lead role. He noted that the state is making strides in renewable energy and can supply 24×7 green energy, a key requirement for IT industries. To boost tech-based investment, the state has implemented dedicated policies for IT, ESDM, semiconductors, drones, AVGC and will soon launch the MP Space Tech Policy 2025.
