Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma Launches ₹475 Crore Development Projects in Nimbahera, Declares Rajasthan’s Path to Prosperity

Jaipur : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that Rajasthan is scripting a new story of development. “Our government is fulfilling every commitment made to the state,” he affirmed, highlighting adequate budget provisions for all 200 Assembly constituencies. He noted that the double-engine government is taking historic steps to transform Rajasthan into a prosperous and developed state.

Addressing a ceremony in the Agriculture Produce Market Complex at Nimbahera, Chittorgarh, the CM emphasized Mewar’s legacy of strength and devotion, home to heroes like Maharana Pratap, Mirabai, Swami Pannadhay, and Bhamashah. He hailed the timely monsoon rains as blessings for farmers and agriculture.

Major Rail & Infrastructure Boost

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Rajasthan’s goal of transforming into a Developed Rajasthan 2047 state is on track. The PM’s infrastructure drive benefits the state, with the centre allocating Rs 10,000 crore for rail development—a 15-fold increase from pre-2014 levels.

Water & Power Initiatives

Sharma outlined key water infrastructure projects such as the Ram Jalseetu Link Project, Yamuna Water Treaty, Devas Project, Indira Gandhi Canal, Ganganagar Canal, and Mahi Dam to ensure reliable water supply. Simultaneously, decisive steps are being taken to achieve power self-reliance within the state.

Social Welfare & Job Creation

Highlighting his government’s focus, Sharma noted schemes for women, farmers, youth, and the underprivileged, with targets to provide 400,000 government jobs and 600,000 private sector jobs within five years.

‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ Tree Plantation Drive

Inspired by PM Modi’s “One Tree in Mother’s Name” initiative, the state launched Hariyalo Rajasthan. Last year over 7.5 crore plants were planted; this year, 2.5 crore seedlings will be planted on Haryali Teej (July 27), aiming for 10 crore this year and 50 crore in five years. Sharma urged citizens to participate by planting during the current monsoon season.

Rural Empowerment & Environmental Conservation

He described initiatives like the Pandit Deendayal Poverty-Free Village Plan, targeting 10,000 villages to raise BPL families above the poverty line. The Vande Ganga Water Conservation Campaign held 370,000 programs with over 2.5 crore participants. The Karmabhoomi se Matrubhoomi initiative has begun constructing 45,000 water conservation structures over four years.

Development Achieved in 1.5 Years Outpaces Predecessor’s Five-Year Tenure

Sharma lauded his government’s performance:

  • Added 4,270 MW to power generation vs. 3,948 MW by previous government.
  • Provided fencing subsidies for 25.3 million meters of land vs. 11.3 million earlier.
  • Built 32,000 farm ponds vs. 29,000 previously.
  • Upgraded 55 veterinary hospitals to first-class status vs. 49 earlier.

Nimbahera’s Transformation

Announcing a ₹519 crore integrated development plan for Nimbahera, the CM launched virtual inauguration of over ₹475 crore development projects across departments:

He also unveiled a statue of Ahilyabai Holkar, visited exhibition stalls, and distributed cheques, property cards, tricycles, and scooters to beneficiaries. Leader guests included Revenue Minister Hemant Meena, Women & Child Development Minister Dr. Manju Baghmar, MP CP Joshi, MLAs, officers, and residents.

Personal Touch

After the event, CM Sharma stopped at a local shop in Nimbahera’s Ahimsa Circle for tea with youth and villagers, paying via UPI and engaging in conversation.
