Minister Meghana Bordikar Orders Action Against Defaulting Contractors in Beed’s Power Sector
Mumbai – Minister of State for Energy Meghana Bordikar has directed immediate action against contractors responsible for substandard and delayed work in the power sector of Beed district. She emphasized that such contractors should be blacklisted without delay.
An official review meeting regarding the ongoing power sector projects in Beed district was held at MSEB Holding Company, Fort, Mumbai. Present at the meeting were MP Bajrang Sonawane, MLAs Prakash Solanke and Sandeep Kshirsagar, Namita Mundada, and senior officials of the Energy Department.
Minister Bordikar stated that all power-related works must be of high quality, completed on time, and prioritise public interest. She noted that several projects in Beed have serious issues in terms of quality and timeliness.
She urged authorities to treat complaints and memos submitted by public representatives with utmost seriousness and ensure that all pending works in the district are completed urgently. Proposals for transformers, new electric poles, and underground cables in both rural and urban areas should be approved and implemented immediately.
Minister Bordikar also stressed that maintaining the trust of public representatives and citizens must be the administration’s top priority. Since power infrastructure directly impacts daily life, any form of negligence in project execution will not be tolerated.
The meeting included a detailed discussion on power-related challenges across various talukas of Beed district. It was decided to increase manpower where needed, install additional transformers, and focus on implementing new schemes.
