Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Reviews Announcements and Development Works of Haridwar Lok Sabha Constituency
Aug 25 : Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a review meeting at the Secretariat regarding the Chief Minister’s announcements and other developmental works in the assembly segments falling under the Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency.
He instructed officials to maintain continuous communication with the MLAs to address various public issues in their respective assembly constituencies. The Chief Minister emphasized expediting the execution of tasks identified as top priorities by the MLAs. In case of any challenges or hindrances in implementing these projects, secretaries and department heads should hold discussions with the concerned MLAs to find timely solutions.
To ensure effective implementation of announcements and important schemes in all 70 assembly constituencies of the state, Additional Secretary-level officers will soon be designated as nodal officers, acting as a bridge between the government administration and the respective assembly constituencies.
The Chief Minister also suggested incorporating innovative initiatives in every constituency that highlight and preserve local cultural traditions and heritage.
During the review meeting, Chief Minister Dhami instructed that a comprehensive plan be prepared to provide a permanent solution to waterlogging problems in Haridwar. He directed that the survey be completed promptly and a proposal be drafted. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) for establishing a permanent water arrangement at Triveni Ghat, Rishikesh, should be prepared within a month. He further directed to expedite the development of Sanjay Lake as a major tourist attraction.
Regarding the Kanwar Yatra, the Chief Minister emphasized devising a well-planned strategy to create alternative routes to avoid inconvenience in commuting and other essential services during the pilgrimage. Strengthening the drainage systems in urban areas and focusing on the construction and beautification of public parks were also highlighted as key priorities.
He instructed officials to accelerate construction activities post-monsoon and launch a special campaign to ensure pothole-free roads after the rains. A nodal officer should also be appointed for AIIMS Rishikesh and the upcoming AIIMS Satellite Center in Kichha. Additionally, two villages in each district should be developed as model villages.
During the meeting, MLAs raised concerns regarding waterlogging, parking, beautification projects, drainage and sewage issues, construction of culverts, traffic management, and other regional problems. The Chief Minister assured immediate action and directed officials to resolve these issues at the earliest.
