Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C Central Command, Pays Courtesy Call on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami

Aug 25 : Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta (AVSM, SM, VSM), General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Indian Army’s Central Command, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office on Friday.

During the meeting, discussions were held on enhancing coordination between military and civil administration in the border areas of the state. Chief Minister Dhami stated that the Indian Army not only plays a crucial role in safeguarding the unity, sovereignty, and integrity of the nation but also actively collaborates with civil society in developmental initiatives. He appreciated the Army’s efforts in fulfilling various social responsibilities in Uttarakhand’s border regions, assisting local communities, and providing exemplary support during natural disasters through relief and rescue operations.

Expressing gratitude for the Indian Army’s contributions, the Chief Minister assured full cooperation from the state government in all major initiatives undertaken by the Army.

Lieutenant General Sengupta briefed the Chief Minister about the Central Command’s various programs aimed at the holistic development of the border areas. He informed that the Indian Army is committed to not only maintaining security but also fostering socio-economic development. Initiatives in areas such as infrastructure development in border regions, community engagement, youth interaction, and promoting tourism in forward areas are being actively pursued.

The meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary Shri R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Shri Deependra Chaudhary, Shri Vinod Kumar Suman, and other senior military officers.
