PM Modi Felicitated by NDA MPs for ‘Operation Sindoor’ Success Amid Parliament Deadlock

New Delhi, Aug 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated by Members of Parliament from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesday, celebrating the successful execution of Operation Sindoor during the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting held at the Parliament Library Building in New Delhi. The meeting also witnessed resounding applause for Operation Mahadev, with chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ echoing through the hall as a mark of celebration.

The high-profile gathering took place against the backdrop of an ongoing parliamentary deadlock. Opposition parties, led by the INDIA bloc, have been vociferously demanding a debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, calling for its immediate withdrawal. The deadlock has disrupted legislative business in both Houses of Parliament.

Key NDA leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi, and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, were present at the meeting. Members from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha attended the session, showing a united front in support of the Prime Minister’s leadership and the success of recent strategic operations.

The meeting underscored the NDA’s internal solidarity even as Parliament remained stalled. Due to the continued uproar by opposition MPs, the Lok Sabha was unable to take up the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which were scheduled for discussion and passage.

Meanwhile, the INDIA bloc has intensified its protests. Leaders of the alliance held a strategy meeting at 10 am on Tuesday in the office of the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, also located in the Parliament Library Building. Following their internal deliberations, the alliance’s MPs staged a protest at 10:30 am in front of Makar Dwar in Parliament, raising slogans under the banner of “Our Vote, Our Right, Our Fight.” The opposition accuses the government of manipulating the electoral rolls in Bihar through the SIR process to its political advantage.

In addition to the political confrontation, Parliament proceedings on Tuesday began with obituary references to the recent demise of former MPs Tilakdhari Prasad Singh, Ram Rati Bind, and Shibu Soren. The House paid tributes to their contributions to public service.

According to the List of Business issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya was scheduled to present amendments to the National Anti-Doping Act, 2022, for consideration and passage. He was also slated to introduce the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, in the Lok Sabha. However, the persistent protests and disruptions have cast uncertainty over the legislative agenda.

As the deadlock persists, both the ruling NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc are locked in a political face-off, with the SIR of electoral rolls in Bihar becoming the latest flashpoint in Parliament.
