Fix responsibility of officers for effective implementation of schemes: Governor Shri Patel

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel emphasized the need for seriousness at every stage of implementing the Mukhyamantri Dudhharu Pashu Praday Yojana (Chief Minister’s Milk Animal Supply Scheme). He stated that eligible beneficiaries must receive the full benefits of the scheme, and the responsibility of officers should be clearly defined to ensure its effective execution. He directed departmental officers to maintain regular communication with the beneficiaries, visit their homes, and gather first-hand information about the benefits being received. He also stressed the importance of listening to the beneficiaries’ concerns sincerely and ensuring timely redressal of their issues.

Governor Shri Patel reviewed the implementation of the Chief Minister’s Milk Animal Supply Scheme, being run under the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Shri Lakhan Patel, was also present during the review meeting held at the Jawahar Khand Hall of Raj Bhavan.

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel stated that the Chief Minister’s Milk Animal Supply Scheme is an ambitious initiative aimed at the welfare of the most backward tribal communities. The scheme is designed to uplift and improve the living standards of the Baiga, Bharia, and Sahariya tribes. He emphasized that the Animal Husbandry Department must show special sensitivity towards eligible and economically disadvantaged beneficiaries and should always work with a spirit of service and support.

In the meeting, Governor Shri Patel conducted a detailed review of the implementation of the Chief Minister’s Milk Animal Supply Scheme over the past three years. He inquired about the improvements in the living standards of beneficiaries as a result of the scheme’s implementation. While reviewing the progress report, he issued necessary instructions concerning beneficiary selection, animal distribution, income generation, target setting, and achievement.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Lakhan Patel, emphasized that continuous monitoring is essential for the successful implementation of the scheme. He directed the department to make the necessary arrangements to ensure this. Chairman of the Tribal Cell, Shri Deepak Khandekar, discussed key aspects such as the training provided to beneficiaries under the scheme and the care of the animals. Principal Secretary of the Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Shri Umakant Umrao, shared detailed information on various aspects of the scheme, including beneficiary eligibility, evaluation processes, upcoming targets, training, and overall scheme management.

Principal Secretary to Governor Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari, Secretary of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department Dr. Satyendra Singh, Director Dr. P.S. Patel, Managing Director Dr. Satyanidhi Shukla, Dr. Sanjay Gowani, General Manager Shri Aseem Nigam, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
