ENERZAL Mumbai Ultra Marathon, 2025 – The 12 Hour Run.

The ENERZAL Mumbai Ultra Marathon, a unique 100% charity event to raise fund for the Pediatric Cancer patients under treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai is being scheduled on 15th. August, 2025.

MANIKANDAN SEENICHAMY – Engineer & Marathoner:

Manikandan Seenichamy, a Senior Engineer with Rolls Royce, Pune began running in 2013. Over the period of time, while adding feathers to his crown, Manikandan has manifested his prodigious athletic skills to an 80/20 Champion. While the journey in its initial stages were inevitably challenging, but Manikandan had always followed the 10% Rule for Running.

Leveraging numerous Half Marathons, along with 10K events. The first 10.5 km took 69 minutes, and the second 10.5 km was clocked at 68 minutes, a negative split, which stood as a testament to his growing prowess in distance running. Manikandan has demonstrated peer skills in completing the January Mumbai Marathon for 11 yearly episodes.

The mentors of long haul runs have aptly quoted, “Mental toughness is an acquired trait”. Alike his company Rolls Royce’s ‘Phantom’; just saying Manikandan’s running is smooth would be an understatement. He perceives to being carried aloft on a fluffy cloud, while venturing on a long haul run. With such a mindset he has accomplished 05 World Marathon Majors: the New York City Marathon; Berlin Marathon; Tokyo Marathon; Chicago Marathon; and London Marathon.

In a very subtle voice, he reaffirmed, “Running a marathon is one of my ambitions. After coming to know about Mumbai Ultra Marathon, from my mentor Satish Gujaran, I did register and delved into practice, successfully completed my first full ultra-marathon in Mumbai in the year 2014. After that I’m crazy for running”.

The Mumbai Ultra Marathon is organised for a noble cause, to support children battling cancer. I am proud to be part of it, knowing that my registration helps make a difference in the lives of these children”, Manikandan added.

The Mega Event – Mumbai Ultra is truly an outstanding event. The level of support, medical facilities, volunteers, and traffic management is exceptional. It is one of the most well-organised and inspiring events in Mumbai. The organisers is already doing a fantastic job. There’s nothing major to change, but I would like to suggest enhanced traffic control, especially since it’s a 12-hour event. I understand it’s challenging to manage for such a long duration, but I’m confident, the organisers can continue to improve in this area”, Manikandan reiterated.

Running is a simple and accessible sport, anyone can explore, it leads to a healthier lifestyle. In today’s busy world, if you can combine your passion for running with a small contribution for noble causes, such as supporting children with cancer, then you are truly making a meaningful impact”.

DOCTOR YASH SHEKATKAR – Orthodontist & Avid Marathoner:

Over the years, while pursuing scholastics, Doctor Yash had completely ignored fitness. But later, while even climbing certain few floors, turned out to take toll on his body, it is then when he decided to commence some specialised physical exertions.

It was way back in 2013, that I started with small walk & runs which eventually with time has got converted to long hours of run with few walks if needed”. Doctor Yash further added, “I have completed over 15 full marathons, 60 odd half marathons, around 12 ultra-marathons, which includes the 12 hours runs; 06 hours run; stadium runs and more. But my favourite running distance has always been the Full Marathon with proper training+planning+execution”.

He has been participating in Mumbai Ultra Marathon for the past 04 years now. One of the core reasons to get engaged is the cause which is very heart touching.

According to Dr. Shekatkar, “Marathon or Ultra Marathon whatever, is always ‘mind over body’. Only if you are mentally trained, you can physically train for such distances”.

He further added, Mumbai Ultra Marathon is one of the most well organised events in terms of support, hydration, and medical care which is much needed in such a mega event.

Dr. Shekatkar has appealed to the society at large, in extending their cooperation, “since there is very limited time period, and the time period is more than needed if one maintains health. Fitness and health are two different things one needs to align it correctly. Health is a cumulative amalgamation of daily workout, daily eating habits and sleeping patterns. It’s a correlation that is ignored more than often but should never be in my opinion. Desire, Determination, Dedication are the key 3D’s to achieve health and fitness. You are gifted with life, do take care of life, or else it would take it away from you”.

Following the Ultra-Marathon on 15th. August, 2025, Mumbai Ultra Blood Donation Drive is scheduled across SIX (06) places in Mumbai; Greater Mumbai, and Navi Mumbai locations from 08.00 AM to 08.00 PM on 17th. August, 2025. The places are:
