Chief Secretary Reviews Progress of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and Lado Protsahan Yojana

Jaipur, January 2026 : Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas on Tuesday chaired a review meeting at the State Secretariat to assess the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and the Lado Protsahan Yojana.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana aims to provide conditional maternity assistance to pregnant women and lactating mothers from socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society. Rajasthan has been among the top three performing states in the country in the implementation of this scheme during the period from April to December last year. So far, 1,185,548 women in the state have benefited from the scheme. The Chief Secretary directed officials to ensure timely disbursement of benefits to all eligible beneficiaries and to expedite the disposal of pending cases.

The Lado Protsahan Yojana, implemented by the Department of Women Empowerment, aims to encourage the birth, safety, and education of girl children and to promote their overall development. Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹1.5 lakh is provided in seven installments.

While reviewing the scheme, the Chief Secretary instructed officials to conduct field inspections to assess ground-level progress and to ensure that benefits reach genuinely eligible beneficiaries. He emphasized the need for real-time monitoring of the scheme and directed that the dashboard on the OJAS portal be regularly updated. He also asked officials to document, publish, and publicize success stories of beneficiaries.

The Chief Secretary further directed the Health Department, Education Department, and Women and Child Development Department to work in coordination to integrate their respective portals and develop an integrated dashboard. He also emphasized the use of artificial intelligence to prevent inconsistent payments and invalid or duplicate applications.

The review meeting was attended by Shri Bhawani Singh Detha, Principal Secretary, Women and Child Development Department; Shri Krishna Kunal, Principal Secretary, Education Department; Dr. Amit Yadav, Director, National Health Mission; and other senior officials.
