Rajasthan to Host First-Ever Statewide Ghoomar Festival on November 19

State-Level Festival to Take Place at Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium, Jaipur

Jaipur, Nov 2025: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Tourism, Art & Culture Diya Kumari announced that the Ghoomar dance, a traditional folk dance, is the cultural identity of Rajasthan. For the first time, the Ghoomar Festival – 2025 will be organized across all seven divisional headquarters of the state on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. On the same day, a state-level celebration will be held at the football ground of Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur.

A preparatory and coordination meeting for the upcoming festival was held on Wednesday at the Conference Hall of Rajasthan Tourism Bhawan, chaired by Deputy CM Diya Kumari, and attended by public representatives and stakeholders.

Diya Kumari said that the festival—being organized simultaneously in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Kota, and Bharatpur—will showcase the vibrant art and cultural heritage of Rajasthan. She invited girls above 12 years of age and women of all ages to participate in this unique event.

The Deputy Chief Minister also appealed to school and college students, homemakers, professional dancers, and working women to take part in the festival and promote Rajasthan’s cultural traditions. She encouraged maximum participation from women across the state and urged spectators to attend the festival dressed in traditional attire.

Free Dance Workshops

To prepare participants, free Ghoomar workshops are being conducted in all seven cities. In Jaipur, a six-day workshop is currently underway at Jawahar Kala Kendra from November 11 to 16, 2025.

Ghoomar on Special Soundtrack

A special soundtrack has been created exclusively for the Ghoomar performances, and the dance will be performed to this music across all divisional headquarters.

Live Music Ghoomar in Jaipur

The state-level Ghoomar Festival in Jaipur will feature a grand live performance at the Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium. Under the direction of Mrs. Jyoti Tomar, Executive Director of Gangaur Ghoomar Dance Academy, members of the academy along with selected Jaipur participants will perform Ghoomar on live music to celebrate Rajasthan’s grace and cultural unity.
