Serving the Suffering is Like Serving God – Governor Gulab Chand Kataria Inaugurates Ambulance at Ambamata Government Hospital

Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shri Gulab Chand Kataria said that serving people in distress is equivalent to serving God, and their blessings are like divine grace. Therefore, one should always be ready to serve those in need.

On Monday, Governor Kataria was addressing the inauguration ceremony of an ambulance at the Sundar Singh Bhandari Government Hospital in Ambamata, Udaipur. The ambulance was provided under CSR by Tech Firefly Private Limited.

He remarked that Mewar is a land of philanthropists, and many donors here remain committed to helping the distressed. He noted that several developmental works have been undertaken in the past to improve facilities at Ambamata Hospital, and the state government has recently sanctioned a budget for its further expansion. In addition, many philanthropists are contributing to the enhancement of hospital services. Kataria suggested to RNT Principal Dr. Mathur that the help of Scouts & Guides and NCC volunteers be sought to guide patients and their relatives to various departments in the hospital.

Hospital Superintendent Dr. Rahul Jain and others informed that Udaipur City MLA Shri Tarachand Jain had proposed the hospital’s upgradation to the state government, which was included in the budget. As part of this, ₹3.5 crore has been sanctioned for modern equipment and ₹1.5 crore for civil works. They also requested that the vacant building of the Social Justice & Empowerment Department located in front of the hospital be allotted to the hospital for expansion. Governor Kataria assured that he would take up the matter at the administrative level.

During his Udaipur visit on Monday, Governor Kataria also held discussions at the Circuit House with officials on various aspects of the city’s development. He reviewed ongoing projects being carried out by the central and state governments as well as the Udaipur Development Authority, and also discussed initiatives for socio-cultural advancement.

The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Ms. Pragya Kevalramani, District Collector Namit Mehta, Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal, UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, and other officials.
