Govinda Teams Salute the Bravery of the Indian Armed Forces through ‘Dahi Handi’ – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

CM visits various Dahi Handi celebrations across Mumbai city and suburbs, extends greetings to citizens

Mumbai, Aug 2025 : “Through ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Indian Armed Forces have fulfilled the resolve and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. By destroying terrorist bases in Pakistan, they have taught the enemy a stern lesson and displayed their valor before the world. Today, during this Dahi Handi festival, the Govinda teams have beautifully paid tribute to the courage of our armed forces,” said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

On the occasion of Dahi Handi, Chief Minister Fadnavis visited various programs across Mumbai and its suburbs, extending greetings to the citizens.

At the Lal Bahadur Shastri Road celebrations in Ghatkopar, the Chief Minister interacted with soldiers of the armed forces who were present at the event. The program was also graced by Minister of Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar, MLA Pravin Darekar, and MLA Ram Kadam.

CM Fadnavis said, “I wholeheartedly salute the soldiers of our armed forces present here today and their unmatched bravery. The social and cultural initiatives being undertaken through the Ghatkopar festival are noteworthy. The human pyramids built by the Govinda teams, dedicated to the valor of our armed forces, are truly inspiring.”

On this occasion, retired Army officer Anand Tiwari was felicitated. Additionally, Chetan Shah and Rajesh Bhimsare were honored for their contributions to social work.

CM’s presence at various Dahi Handi celebrations in Mumbai city and suburbs

At the Aarambh Dahi Handi program held in Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli, the Chief Minister remarked, “When human pyramids are built during Dahi Handi, it conveys the vital message of unity in society. It symbolizes how people must stand together and move forward as one.” On this occasion, Shruti Vinod Ghogale and Suhas Mate were present, and the Chief Minister was felicitated with a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

At the Parivartan Dahi Handi celebrations organized at Worli Jamboree Maidan, artists presented inspiring episodes from the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Impressed by the performances, CM Fadnavis felicitated the artists. The event was also attended by Minister of Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar, Minister of Skill Development Mangal Prabhat Lodha, MLA Pravin Darekar, and other dignitaries.

Similarly, at the Dahi Handi celebration held at Freedom Fighter Sadakant Dhavan Garden in Bhoiwada, CM Fadnavis extended greetings to the Govinda teams and citizens present.
