Meeting Held with Private Market Yard Promoters and Agricultural Produce Market Committee Secretaries

Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Director of Agricultural Marketing, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Chauhan, held a meeting on Tuesday at Pant Krishi Bhawan with private market yard promoters and the secretaries of the respective Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) to review the businesses and facilities being operated in private sub-market yards.

During the meeting, private market yard promoters demanded an increased share in market fees and the inclusion of commission on wheat procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The Director assured that necessary steps would be taken to address these demands.

He also instructed all private market promoters to ensure that adequate facilities are provided to farmers within market premises. Those private markets where construction work is still incomplete were directed to complete construction at the earliest and start operations, so that farmers can sell their produce conveniently and receive fair prices for their crops.

The Director further directed the APMC secretaries to hold meetings with private yard promoters within fifteen days to resolve their issues. He also announced that a review meeting at the Directorate level will be held every three months with private market promoters and the respective APMC secretaries.

Additionally, he instructed both promoters and secretaries to take strict measures to prevent evasion of market fees in private markets.
