Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Ramdas Athawale’s Visit to Chhattisgarh
Review of schemes’ progress; directions issued to officials
Raipur, Sept 2025 : Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Ramdas Athawale, arrived in Raipur today on his visit to Chhattisgarh. At the state guest house Pahuna, he held a meeting with senior officials of the Government of Chhattisgarh and conducted a detailed review of various schemes being implemented under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
During the meeting, Shri Athawale specifically inquired about schemes related to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Divyangjan (persons with disabilities). He directed officials to ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach the eligible beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner. He also emphasized the need to strengthen departmental coordination and take concrete steps to improve the socio-economic conditions of marginalized communities.
The Union Minister of State said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government is making serious efforts toward social justice and equal opportunities. He highlighted that effective implementation of programs such as Divyangjan empowerment, scholarship schemes, skill development initiatives, and self-employment assistance schemes is helping integrate weaker sections of society into the mainstream.
The meeting was attended by Shri Taran Prakash Sinha, Joint Secretary of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department; Dr. Saransh Mittar, Commissioner of the Department of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare; Smt. Roktima Yadav, Director of Social Welfare; along with other senior officials.
While interacting with the media, Shri Athawale said that the Central Government’s priority is to deliver the benefits of its schemes to the last person in society. He added that continuous efforts are being made to make these schemes more effective across the country, including in Chhattisgarh. He noted that better coordination with states will further improve both the outreach and outcomes of the schemes.
