Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) 2025 Stakeholders’ Meet – Experts from Tourism & Hospitality Sector Share Vision, Event to be Held in Jaipur from September 12–14

Jaipur, Sept 2025: The Stakeholders’ Meet for the 5th edition of the Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) 2025 was successfully organized at ITC Rajputana, Jaipur, under the joint aegis of the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) and the Department of Tourism, Rajasthan.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Rajesh Yadav, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, and Rukmani Riar, Commissioner, Department of Tourism, along with several eminent figures including Apoorv Kumar (Former President, FHTR), Kuldeep Singh Chandela (President, FHTR), Surendra S. Shahpura (Senior Vice President, FHTR), and CA Virendra S. Shekhawat (General Secretary, FHTR).

The meet brought together experts, industry leaders, and representatives from the tourism and hospitality sector to discuss the vision, structure, and significance of the upcoming Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart 2025.

Principal Secretary Rajesh Yadav highlighted Rajasthan’s unique position as a preferred destination for both domestic and international tourists, ranking 5th nationally with a 7–8% share. He emphasized that beyond historical monuments, today’s travelers seek experience-based tourism, making it crucial to develop new destinations. The state government, he noted, is investing over ₹5,000 crore in five years for tourism development, with ₹1,000 crore already committed to infrastructure projects.

Yadav further revealed that district collectors have been directed to identify potential tourism sites including heritage landmarks, natural attractions, culturally significant villages, fairs and festivals, spiritual and religious sites, as well as adventure, eco, and wellness tourism locations. A comprehensive audit of major tourist spots is also underway. He stressed the need for stakeholder suggestions, balancing over-tourism in places like Jaisalmer, and promoting rural and youth-led tourism.

FHTR leaders echoed similar sentiments. General Secretary CA Virendra S. Shekhawat underlined FHTR’s role as Rajasthan’s apex tourism body, while President Kuldeep Singh Chandela described tourism as a collective effort, calling for more research institutions to engage students in the sector. He also thanked the government for providing FHTR with an international platform.

Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riar shared that between 2019 and 2025, the sector has seen remarkable progress with tourism’s contribution to GDP rising by 20% and expenditure increasing by 9%. FHTR has actively participated in 25 national and 5–6 international events, and now aims to showcase RDTM effectively on the global stage.

The 5th edition of RDTM will be held from September 12–14, 2025, in Jaipur, supported by prestigious associations including the Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA), Hotels and Restaurants Association of Rajasthan (HRAR), Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators (RATO), Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI), Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Global Association of Events and Hospitality Professionals, and Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI).

Significance of RDTM:
The previous edition witnessed participation from over 240 national buyers and 280 Rajasthan-based sellers, facilitating more than 7,000 B2B meetings. These resulted in significant leads for hotel bookings, curated experiences, and destination weddings, thereby strengthening Rajasthan’s tourism industry.

Opportunity for Stakeholders:
With higher participation expected in 2025, stakeholders eager to present their services and products, connect with leading buyers, and be part of Rajasthan’s tourism growth journey can register via FHTR’s website https://fhtr.in.
